I called Kelly Johnson to renew my homeowners insurance policy on 5/30/07. This policy was set to expire on 5/31/07. This office didn;t have any of my information on file. The office told me that I didn't exist and that they would have to investigate to find my policy.

Well the next day I contacted their office to find out more information. They found my policy, but couln't tell me if it was still active or anything. I told them I needed a new policy on 6/01/07. The office told me they would look into a possible refund, cancellation date and etc. The office offered me a new policy on 5/31/07. The office told me to come down and sign the policy and that I needed to bring a money order (this was the only payment accepted).

This office called me at 4:00 and said if I could make it before 5 they would write my policy to avoid any lapse in coverage. I left work early, went to get my money order and was at the office at 4:24. The lady told me the guy who was helping was leaving and she wouldn't help. I ask her to just check, because we had been talking the whole day. She said he would not help, she wouldn't help and there was nothing I could do. She told me that farmers has an agreement that won't allow them to write a policy after 4. I told her I just talked with him and he insited me coming down right now. She said I needed to come back. I ask if she could at least print out my quote. She said she was happy to.

I took my quote and went about 2 blocks where a famers agent was more than happy to write my quote. She said this was never a policy of farmers. However, this agent Kelly Johnson didn't have my policy on file, couldn't find my policy, didn't have any information on it, invites me down to write a new policy and refuses to so as promised while open for business I must add. She can't find out if I need a refuns because she doesn't know when my policy started, ended or anything. I could have lost everything becuase of the carelessness of this office and agency.

From my POV

AUTHOR: Dre - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 12, 2013

This is a pretty old report nevertheless I decided to chime in.  Just wanted to say I think the guy is full of it. His story changed so many times its impossible to believe. Sounds to me he was just too lazy/careless with his insurance.  Insurance protects you so its up to you to be proactive in getting it taken care of. Hence why I'm here checking out companies now before I decide to just go with the lowest quote!

See how dealing with this agent is so poor. Still, she avoids even hearing from my side of the story. Her office is providing false information. Mr. Pitzer provided me a quote at 2:00. Why would I stand you agency up and go back at 4:00. My mortgage company was forcing me to purchase their homeowners insurance and I needed it that day. Why did your other agent say Farmers didn't allow policies to be written after 4:00? The agent down the road was happy to assist me. The only reason I was able to end up saving hundred was due to the willingness of the agent to work hard for me. He called Farmers and told them my situation and they was happy to insure me additional savings because of my problems I had with KELLY JOHNSON INSURANCE AGENCY. I don't have a problem with Farmers, they was able to look at th false quote and correct it and give me a discount for my troubles. He couldn't figure out the quote and told me your agency had put in something on my home I didn't have. If your agency would have kept my policy information on file, I could have got insurance the day before and not had to deal with this.IF you are going to purchase insurance from this agent I would suggest reading reviews from proper and well respected yellow pages and local major search engines. I couldn't find one positve review. I would look carefully at my experience here and see if this is what you want from an agent. What agency would set up an appointment and stand their customer up under any circumstance. Go buy a money order, come in and you are all set said Mr. Pitzer. Come to find out he was in the back and didn't have the courage to tell me why he decided to stand me up.

Justin says he paid more going down the road, but in his first report he says he saved over $300.00. So which is it?? You saved or you paid more????

You also failed to mention that you stood up Mr. Pitzer for your first appt. at 2pm, then you also failed to mention that you did not show up in our office until 4:45pm, when you were suppose to have been here for an appt with Mr. Pitzer at 4:00pm. You were NEVER told that we didn't take appointments after 4pm, but you were told that Mr. Pitzer was leaving for the day (not the weekend) when you arrived at 4:45pm.

You also failed to mention that the other "female" in the office was already with a client when you arrived at 4:45pm, so therefore she could not take over Mr. Pitzers appointment. Farmers has NEVER had a rule of not taking appointments after 4pm, nor has our agency...we can however set our own agency rules!

Kelly Johnson Staff

AUTHOR: Juston - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 01, 2008

Does your staff always set appointments they can't keep? I had an appointment with an agent at your office. He told me to come by at 4:00 to resign my new policy. He new the importance of me getting insurance that day. He told me the exact amount and said I had to have a money order. I left work early at 3:30 in which I still have all my records and documents. I did as he ask. Yet, when I got there at 4:00 I was greeted by another agent a female and she was quite rude. She informed me the he had my paperwork and had left for the weekend and she couldn't help me because Farmers doesn't accept policies after 4:00 and she didn't know why he set the appointment if he wasn't there. I was there as asked. I had to get insurance. She told me false information. I know this, because the exact same day I left your office about 10 minutes later and went two blocks to Chris Garners office and he wrote the exact policy your agent and I had discussed. I even paid more at Chris Garners office for a policy with Farmers just because of how I was treated at your Farmers office. Chris Garner said your office must of put that I had a home security alarm or something I didn't qualify for that is why his price was higher. Is your office in the habit of liying about policies to give a hceaper rate to a customer to get business? Another Farmers agent thought that.

P.S. As I stated earlier, you haven't heard my side of the story or you don't care to. You always want to believe those closest to you and give them the benefit of the doubt. But, why wouldn't you want to hear the entire story before making judgment?

Also, I am not an insurance expert and don't claim to be. I am sure most of your customers aren't either. We rely on an agent we can trust to help us purchase a policy. If you remember the first company you signed me up with Texas Select went out of business. How could I continue to pay a policy in which your office lost my records? That company contacted me once according to Department of Insurance and I have never heard of that company before then. I didn't know who you signed me up with. If you wouldn't have signed me up with a company in financial trouble I probably wouldn't of had any of these problems. I am not an insurance agent or have any insurance knowledge other than what my agent tells me. You told me that was a great and stable company and look at what happended.

Finally, as you can see the issue here is about your agency setting appointments with me they couldn't keep. Did your agent say I wasn't coming by. Did he not care that he promised me I could have insurance that day if I showed up with the down payment at 4:00. Is your agency in the right on these procedures?

It Is What It Is....The Truth

AUTHOR: Kelly Johnson - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 01, 2008

I believe the non-payment of premium speaks for themselves. I have all the documentation to uphold my end of this, along with all of the notes that my staff did make. All of my staff are licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance and have to follow insurance regulations just the same as I do. I have never had a complaint on my staff, nothing ever but praise.

If my staff did have an error in judgement, I would be the first to admit so. But when a client has been notified on several different occasions about their options & never gotten back to us, then it becomes the clients responsibility. When you do not pay your premiums, your policy cancels for non-payment, there is not a company out there that will provide someone with insurance without collecting the necessary premiums!!

Also, you are notified by mail of cancellations from companies, you receive a cancellation notice, and a finial cancellation notice.

Kelly Johnson Insurance Agency

AUTHOR: Juston - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 31, 2008

This agent to date still hasn't contacted me to see what happened. She has heard the side of the employees, but not my side of the story. She must not care about anything other than clearing her name. How can she know what is false or what happened if she hasn't heard both sides of the story.

Inacurate Information Reported

AUTHOR: Kelly Johnson - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 31, 2008

The information reported about the Kelly Johnson Insurance Agency is extremely inaccurate. Justins previous homeowners insurance company was Texas Select until they removed themselves from writing business effective 08/23/06 in the State of Texas. Not only did Texas Select send a letter out to each individual insured, but each & every client was contacted by the Kelly Johnson Agency with alternatives.

Justin was personally contacted by Kelly Johnson in August 2006 & was given several options of coverages, premiums, and companies. Justin told Kelly that he would check with his wife & call our agency back. He made a choice to go with ASI Lloyds without contacting our agency. His policy with ASI cancelled for non-payment of premium, so therefore the information he is reporing is very inaccuarte. Justin did not pursue other insurance until 1 year after there coverage terminated for non-payment of premiums, and after his file was placed in our "dead-files" in storage.

Justin worked with one of the licensed CSR's in our agency for several days , made several appointments and stood him up on two different occasions. He has failed in his "rip-off" report to give the correct/accurate details of what exactly took place. He was "NEVER" told that we do not write policies after 4pm, that is not our policy now nor has it ever been so. The Kelly Johnson Agency is run with intergrity, and we do not treat our clients the way the individual has inaccurately portrayed our agency.

Kelly Johnson Insurance Agency

AUTHOR: Juston - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 20, 2007

The BBB also has reviewed this case and I can only hope that consumers can learn from the experiences I have had with Kelly Johnson Insurance Agency. What insurance agency sells a policy that they can't even find? They had to call me back the next day in order to find that I was a customer. They set an appointment and couldn't uphold it. They told me that Farmers don't allow policies to be written after 4:30. I left their office and went 3 blocks away and signed a policy with a Farmers Agent Chris Garner (Who is more than Fantastic and very interested in helping people) after 4:30 the very same day. To add to the problems of Kelly Johnson Insurance Agency, Chris Garner was able to get me a policy from Farmers on the same property for $25 less a month. I saved more than $300 by going down the road. There are plenty of insurance agents who take pride in their business and have a desired interest in helping customers. All I am saying is take the time to review your policy and learn from the troubles I have had in dealing with Kelly Johnson Insurance Agency. I will do what I can do help consumers of the experiences I have had and the troubles of dealing with Kelly Johnson Insurance Agency. They have made at least one appointment and promise to me that they couldn't keep or wouldn't stand by. In fact Kelly Johnson herself has not even called me back once. I have sinced moved on to another agent who has addresses my insurance needs. I am hoping consumers will learn about the troubles I have had in dealing with Kelly Johnson Insurance.

False Information!

AUTHOR: Kelly Johnson - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 09, 2007

The comments left about Kelly Johnson Farmers Insurance agency are incorrect. The Texas Department of Insurance was notified & the agency was found "not at fault" for the false information that is being reported.
