Kenn Kakosian Be aware of this incompetent crook who damaged my tooth and stole my insurance money New York New York

I regret that I did not check this guy's background before I saw him. I found many terrible reviews on him on Yelp and other sites. Well, it is too late.

I sincerely hope others would have chance to read my miserable story before see him, so there won't be next victim of this buster.

Here was what happened to me:

Right before the 2016 year end, I went to his office for dental cleaning since I have $2500 dental insurance that had not been used at all. His office is only 2 blocks from my office. So convenience was the only reason I went.

When the cleaning was completed by his assistant, Kakosian came to check (for the additional money making opportunity). He was excited that I still have a lot of unclaimed amount left from my insurance plan. Then he told me that my up front tooth had infection, the nerve was dead and needed treatment. I told him that I don't feel any problem with the tooth. It is strong, no pain, no sour, nothing wrong. Then he continued to scared me that if I don't cure it, I will lose the tooth very soon. I told him that I have need the insurance coverage for my other tooth's work, which would cost about $1500. He told me no problem, he would only charge few hundred dollars for the treatment by him, that I would have enough left for my other dental work.

Kakosian went ahead with root canal on my tooth. The procedure was completed in about 5-10 minutes. When I went back to my office shortly afterwards, I found my tooth was fractured.

I immediately went back to his office (within 20 minutes I left his office). He was embarrassed and apologetic. He said the tooth could not be saved. It has to be removed and replace with bridge or implant. "I am sorry for what happened to you, but don't worry, I will take care of it at my expense". He said that to me. He actually pushed me to extract to tooth, and do the bridge (which would cost much less than implant, but less desirable) on that day.

I was so shocked and upset about what happened that all of the sudden I lost my good tooth by his malpractice and greedy. I told him I need time to evaluate the situation and decide on whether to have bridge or implant.

On the return of following week, I told him that I want implant, not bridge. He said that he is not specialized in the implant, I probably need to go to other oral surgeon. I told him that I checked with other oral surgeons already, the price quotes I received are between $2500 to $5000. Then he backed off from his early promise and accused me of extortion on him.

Worse thing is that I found later that he billed my insurance for over $2600, instead couple of hundred dollars he told me. I can't believe this greedy guy not only destroy my tooth but also stole my money from insurance company. Now he put me in debt owing other dentist for over $1500 for legitimate service, plus as high as $5000 I need to pay for the implant work to cover his malpractice.

I wrote to him and called his office several times since the incident, trying to work out an resolution with him, but he chooses to ignore me and not respond.

I spoke to my many colleagues who were his one time patients. Several of them had similar bad experience with guy, He always find excuse for the unnecessary treatments, then take the opportunity to wipe out their whole insurance benefits. He also committed fraud by backdated the services or bill for non-exist visits.

I am going to report this guy to New York State Dental Board and New York State Insurance Commissioner for the insurance frauds.

I encourage other victims that suffered from his abuse to get in touch with me, so I can provide more information to the investigators.
