I received a yellow "urgent gram" in the postal mail that named me as a possible reccipient of a $5,000 grant for education, housing, health and/or business and the "urgent gram only included an toll-free number and physical address. I punched their address and phone number into the BBB and nothing popped up,so, I Googled their name and the top result was for the Kensington Consulting Group Inc. in Annapolis,MD on this website and I contacted them via e-mail and their reply was that others have contacted them concerning the so called kensington group in New York and that they are a scam. The other people that contacted the "real" group stated that they sent money but haven't heard from anyone since.

How to get your money back and file a complaint for fraud

AUTHOR: Mark - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 11, 2005

If you sent the company your money through a debit or credit card, file a dispute of the charges with your bank as soon as possible. (The card company can return the funds to your bank account until the company the dispute is with can prove that you owe them. Keep your emails from the REAL Kensington Consultants, and any other documentation you have, to send to the card company, if necessary, but you should be able to keep your money if you can show that they are running a scam. However, there is usually a deadline for doing this, so again, DO IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!)

Also, you can forward your documentation to the Attorney Generals of your state and the state of New York. It is possible that they can assist you, and they can definitely get a cease and desist order against the company in order to shut their operation down if they have proof of a fraud being perpetrated.

I almost called about the yellow card

AUTHOR: Jessica - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 06, 2005

Three months ago I recieved a yellow card in the mail. I read it and thought to myself that this was too good to be true. Even though I was planning to go back to school I thought I would still check it out. There was not a single listing for Kensington Consulting Group in New York, only Maryland. Instead of calling I insently wrote on the card scam, but I did not throw away the card for some reason. I was cleaning my office and found the card. Wondering if it really was a scam I deciced to check this sight and found what I was looking for. I was right. Joe I am very sorry about what happened to you. But, I also want to thank you because I might have called that number and been scammed like you and so many others. There has to be a way to shut scam businesses like this one down.
