Found Kevin Mendez through Yelp listing as a dog training expert located 50 miles away. I Negotiated with Kevin for a 60 day boarding and training for my dog at Kevin's home for a total of $3000 which i paid half up front and the remaining balance 3 weeks later. During the first 2 weeks, Kevin told me that my dog's training for aggression issues was going well and my dog was sleeping indoors on the couch. Then Kevin notified me after 3 weeks into the 60 days and said that he had to leave out of state and could no longer keep my dog. Kevin told me he would refund for the unused days of training and boarding
so I arranged to pick my dog up the next week however Kevin text me on the pick up day and said my dog ran off and was now impounded, Kevin gave me the impound info and excommunicated me. I went to pick up my dog at a kennel 50 miles away and was told by the kennel staff that Kevin dropped my dog off 30 days ago and only returned to drop off the dog food which I mailed to Kevin. The staff confirmed that no training took place and that Kevin instructed the staff to feed my dog only 1 cup of dog food per day. At the time of pick up I did not recognize my dog because he lost 20-30 pounds due to being starved on 1 cup of food per day, he was very sickly and trembling.
I was unable to reach Kevin for 2 weeks as he would either ignore my calls, or hang up when he realized it was me. Eventually my lawyer sent a 'demand of payment' in which Kevin agreed to a full refund within 60 to 90 days but never complied. This all took place between 1-24-14 and 2-24-14. At present I am seeking damages and a full refund through small claims however Kevin is running and hiding behind his phony business addresses and phone numbers. Paypal refunded half of the money which I paid online however the $1500 cash which I paid upfront has not been returned. My dog is back to is healthy self again however he still shows trauma around dog trainers.

So after ripping us off over 7 months ago and excommunicating us while avoiding our small claims suit, Mr. Mendez contacted us in late October thru a voluntary county mediator which made for more lies from Mr. Mendez while prolonging closure. Each time we neared a settlement to meet and create a legal binding document, Mr. Mendez would change the terms of the agreement or create excuses about being out of state until November. November turned into December and Mr. Mendez still hasn't brought any closure to the situation. Mr. Mendez acted as though he was being compliant and even offered to meet in front of the judge but when given a court date Mr. Mendez once again created an excuse not to show up. When confronted by the mediator, Mr. Mendez said he would send us a refund/payment(s) each month in the amount of $250 beginning December 1st 2014 however we have recieved no compenstation to this point and will not be satisfied without a legal binding document. Mr. Mendez's word alone is no good and has proved our expectations once again that he is a liar and a RIPOFF! At the time he claimed to be out of state, we began to see Mr. Mendez's updated activities thru social media and those updates were not from out of state. When the time comes, the judge and others will be made aware of his work ethics. Mr. Mendez believes this ripoff report to be slander which would mean it's false however we have the documented papertail, witnesses, and evidence to show that this all happened.
