Kevin Meredith - Discount Home Improvement breach of contract,unfinished work, unpaid personal loans and unpaid loans to company Montgomery Alabama

I hired this contractor in Dec-05 to do work on my house. Over the course of several months I ended up loaning the contractor a total of $7,600.00 for financial support of the company and was only repaid $500.00

I was also conned into signing as guarantor on 2 commercial credit accounts at Home Depot and Lowes but he didn't pay on the accounts as agreed and they both ended up in loss mitigation which I ultimately ended up spending over $6,500.00 to Home Depot to close that account and $5,000.00 to Lowes upon the closing of that account. Both account closings were initiated by me. A remainder of $10,000.00 was still owed to Lowe's that I couldn't cover.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Alabama but they were absolutely no help because it turns out he was not a member. BBB case#85014083 submitted on October 5th, 2007. Mr.Meredith never responded to any of their inquiries. He also never accepted any of my certified letters sent to the business address.

I tried to cover my butt by having the contractor sign a note agreement, which was signed, but mysteriously disappeared from my house after one of his employee's was caught by both myself and Kevin on two separate occasions pilfering through my personal possessions and desk in my house.

I first contacted the Montgomery Police dept to file a theft complaint but was literally laughed at by the magistrate. I then contacted my local district attorney's office and was advised " they didn't feel like getting involved" per an investigator named Josh in their office. My local DA's office dished me off to our State Attorney General's office but I got the same response from them.

I then inquired with the AG's office if this were a matter that may be brought to the attention of the local FBI office but was told "it would be a waste of their and my time". I then contacted several local attorneys and was advised that they were reluctant to go after this character because of the possibility that the contractor would not have enough assets to go after.
