I have had a very low success rate with this business. They are a consignment store that features kids clothing, toys, baby gear, etc....

Dont bother bringing your items here for a pay-out. You will just be lied to about the price they are going to sell them for in the store. They will pay you up front, but if you go back into the store and check the price on your items, they will be different. They are screwing people out of money.

This business cannot keep track of thier finances. They really dont know how to run a business properly. They will talk rudely to you. They do not know how to handle customers.

The business' owners have actually taken items that were in a customers hand because someone else called and said they wanted them!!! When the current customer was going to buy the items!!!

The only good thing about this shop is that they are in a good location...They are overpriced. They will sell things that are used for more than the new price!!
They will lie to you about how and why they pay-out for items. Dont be screwed into the "we have to charge to wash items" crap!!!!

They claim to have done so many things for the community, and yes they have been in the local paper......but when it comes down to it, they are cheating people out of money they deserve.

Dont support this business! Take your money to the local goodwill or salvation army and put it into a business that can help others.

They are a rip off.

AUTHOR: Sunshinerinker - (U.S.A.)

I can remember every time I went in their store.

1. The first time was years ago before they moved into Lakeland they were out on HWY 60 between Brandon and Mulberry. That visit was ok. a little crowded. During my visit a lady came in and bought a dress (or tried to) she did not have enough to pay for it. The cashier told her that they are not a charity and stated that she was not going to let her go without paying the full price. The lady was only short 1.00. At the end of this visit the cashier informed me they were going to be moving to Lakeland later on that month.

2. About a year later I had a rainforest set swing, bouncy seat and jumper that my youngest had outgrown. I brought them all there and she offered me $20 for the whole set. At the time I really needed the money. If I had any other way of getting rid of the stuff I would not have accepted the offer.

3. About a year later I brought a box of clothes in. The sales person was very rude and acted like they did not want me there. All of the clothes that had been worn were in great condition. There were no stains, rips, etc. They had been washed and folded and placed in the box. There were also a few items that still had the store tag on it because my daughter had outgrown the size before she could ever wear them. As she started going through the box my daughter went to the shelve and started to play with some of the toys. She got rather upset and told me that unless I was going to buy the toys my daughter could not touch them. (This was before they put in their playroom). She than looked at me and I think she than noticed some cat fur that was on my pants. She asked me if I had a cat. I told her that yes I did, she jumped away from the box and told me that she was not going to take anything from me and that I should have known that she was allergic to cats.
Well needless to say I never tried bringing anything back there again. I ended up bringing the whole box to salvation army, and got a tax deduction slip for it all.

4. One other time I went in there and was looking at the puzzles they had. I informed the sales person that They were having a sale at Toys R Us buy one get one on those puzzles and asked if they would honor that "since they claim to honor major stores sales". She told me that "if I wanted that price that I should go there, and that there was no way they would sell them for that because they paid more for them. They are a smaller company and they do not have the buying power as those bigger stores do." This time when I went there they had their kids area built and insisted that the children play in that area.

So NO they do not honor their competitor sales, they do not help people that are in need, they do not pay a fair price for your items, they are very rude.

I have NEVER had a problem...

AUTHOR: I have NEVER had an issue - (United States of America)

I have never had a problem with Kid Krazy.. Matter of fact, the ONLY reason I pulled up this web~Site was beacuase I was trying to find the phone number to call them and see if I could drop off clothes....

They always have items on sale, most of the clothing is in good condition..Ive bought my children 3 diffrent Jackets...Ones that would be 3xs as much in a store..And my thoughts about their prices they give you is, "I was going to give the clothes to charity anyways!!  So Now i just get some extra money insted!"

I feel that most of the employees there are polite, There is one that stands out to me, I wish for the life of my I remembered her name, She is incrediably nice.. But most of them are very nice, they seem to be very family concerned! Wich is a HUGE deal to me...  There has been a few that have not been so polite, but thats the owners resposiblity..

For the most part I love this place, I always take my childrens items there!!  I will continue to do so regardless what any ONE person has to say!!

#2 UPDATE Employee

Kid Krazy is a great store and a great place to work!

AUTHOR: Kaitie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 06, 2008

I have to say I was very appalled when I read the article about Kid Krazy ripping people off. I have been an employee at Kid Krazy for over two years and have seen nothing but honesty and fairness in all transactions.

I think many times people get upset with us for not giving them enough money because they're not quite sure how we work. We sell items in our store for a fraction of the orignial price at places such as walmart, target, etc. We then give people a percentage of that price, either 30% in a check or 40% in store credit. This means we are giving people a percentage of an already reduced price.

If this doesn't seem fair consider it from a shoppers viewpoint. Customers that shop in our store are looking for a deal. They want to find the quality items that we sell at a price that they can afford.

I also think its very unfair to accuse Kid Krazy of not giving the right amount to a customer. If you think that we might be ripping you off ask us what we will sell the item for. We will gladly tell you. In fact we'll be happy to price the item while you watch. However, we do sometimes have to knock a small amount off the price because of stains and repair. This is because we if something is stained, we literally have to take the item home, wash it using our personal appliances and bring it back the next day. Not only are we racking up our power bills, but we may loose the sale while an item is being washed.

I also am very disapointed that the article mentioned that we take things out of customers hands when they are buying something, but failed to provide any valid proof that this happened. The only reason we may do this is because the item has a sold sticker on it, which means the item has already been paid for and is waiting to be picked up. We do offer a wish list for items if you are looking for something specific, it is first come first serve for the item once we call you.

Lastly, I am personally offended by the comment that we are rude and don't know how to handle customers. I have spent up to 2 hours with one customer alone making sure they were taken care of and had everything they need. If you ever need assistance please ask us and we will gladly help with anything you need. If something is too heavy to take to your car or if there are too many items, we will carry out your items for you without hesitation. Our goal is to provide satisfaction for the customer, that is the reason we are here. We also care about your children which is why we provide an enclosed play area for them to play in while you shop. If your husband comes in, he will be taken care of as well in our "Dad's Den" with a tv, magazine rack and soft chairs to relax in.

Please consider coming into our store to see for yourselves what we are like. We are dedicated to providing you with pleasant atmosphere that is safe for your entire family.

Customer satisfaction is our #1 goal!!!

In response to this unkind & untrue article, we try to make all of our customers happy. Unfortunately, there are some times when we cannot please everyone. We accept items daily. However, we only can take in items when we have space to put out the items. We give 30% in a check or 40% in store credit of what we sell the items for once we have gone through your items. You don't have to wait for your items to sell. So the word consignment doesn't apply to us.

There are times when Wal-Mart or other dept. stores mark their items down. We try our best to price compare, but there are times when we miss items. We do honor our customers if they have bought something from us and then they see it at the same price or lower we give our customers store credit to make up for our mistake.

We have NEVER taken an item out of an individual's hand because someone called and wanted to buy it. I would love to have names & ph #'s of the people that this happened to.

We actually didn't claim to have done things for the community, the community (such as several local charities & individuals) has claimed us!!! If needed I could supply a list of references, but some are private & cannot be shared due to the privacy act.

We also used to have to wash some of the items that came into our store, but now we are alot more strict about what we take in. We want you as a customer to come in knowing that what you are buying is stain free, rip free, etc. We do miss on occcassion, but we try our best not to.

We accept cash & all major credit cards. We used to accept checks however, we had too many bounce so unfortunately we don't take them any more.

If you have further questions regarding this matter, I would be happy to speak to you personally. Please call Lisa or Michele at (863)619-7000.
