A woman is claiming to be "Kimmer" who has developed a diet plan called "Kimkins." Kimkins.com is promoting medically unsound and potentially life-threatening diet plans in which many members have complained of one or more of the following:

Dizziness
Nausea
Muscle fatigue or weakness
Heartbeat palpitations
Moderate to severe hair loss
Bone and joint pain
Mental changes - irritability, forgetfulness, confusion
Bowel complications/symptoms of laxative abuse

"Kimmer" has been unable to proof her extraordinary claims of weight loss with this dangerous plan and continued investigation by former "Kimkins" members has uncovered many discrepancies in her background and her "portrait" to the online community.

Specific issues include:

is not certified or licensed in any way to dispense nutritional and medical advice

claims to have lost 198 lbs. but has never provided solid evidence of such loss, having refused to be interviewed in person or using true pictures

has advised the daily use of laxatives extended beyond products warnings

has pushed diet followers to stay as low in calories as possible, even as low as 0-300 calories a day

has used questionable marketing techniques to generate membership revenues by:

-- displaying false before/after testimonials
-- using viral marketing techniques such as the willful misplanting that young celebrities have followed the plan in order to target a younger demographic, including pre-teens
-- has allowed affiliates to spam many valid forums with misleading information
-- advertising the acquisition of an e-book as included in the membership fee, which she never produced

It is my belief and many others that this woman has used fradulent practices in order to gain monetary benefits. In fact, this diet found popularity due to an article in "Woman's World" and that the writers ended up "beefing" up the calories for the spread--even the editor at one time asked that they not be mentioned on Kimmer's website.

I would recommend that anyone interested in learning more about the many issues that have risen in the last month regarding this woman visit the following blogs:

(((ROR REDACTED)))

and many others--simply visit one of these sites for more links.

At first I simply allowed the controversy to go on and it continues to swirl among many in the online community regarding her lack of knowledge and deception--this is my way of serving others by providing informed messages and to bring the voices of so many to the attention of the authorities.

There is currently a petition to FTC to investigate these issues.
