I was a member of Wizard 101 along with my son, who was also a member of Wizard 101 and Pirates 101, and they took $60 out of my checking account unauthorized.  I found out that my son had done it but the problem was he should not have been able to authorize the purchase since it requires a master password.  The company offered no explanation as to how my son got through the master password and banned my account because I put a stop to the withdraw of money from my checking account that I did not authorize, this was before I found out that my son had done the authorizing.  I cancelled my check card and wrote to them asking why there was a withdraw from my account.  I received no response until they banned my account.  They stated that it was banned because I had stopped payment on the purchase of crowns.  When I found out that my son was the one who had authorized the payment I asked to repay them the money.  I sent them a cashier's check for $78.00.  This is the total that they requested due to fees from having the payment returned.  I sent the money via certified mail and received the signed certificate stating that payment was received.  I waited very patiently for them to restore my account due to the fact that it was the Holiday season.  The company then proceeded to take the $60 out of my checking account again and still refuse to restore my account with them.  They have received $138 from me which is well over the original dispute amount and will not return my emails or restore my account.  They have never answered the question as to how my son got through my master password, which I know that he does not know since it is used for other things that he has not gotten into and would if he could.  They also will not return the overage of money that they received.  I plan to contact the FCC, BBB, Gaming Commission (Due to the fact that I feel there little packs are like slots), and the Attorney General in both my state and theirs.  I don't know what else to do.  I have warned them that this is the action that I will be taking if I do not hear back from them and I have not only emailed the support but also all of the email addresses that I found on their site.  No one seems to care and what they did to me is not stated as a legal action according to their terms and agreements.

Kingsisle/Wizard101 NOT A RIPOFF

AUTHOR: GamerGirl78 - ()

POSTED: Friday, September 12, 2014

In regards to the ripoff report regarding unauthorized charges, it is  NOT possible for the consumers son to get around the master password. The parent may not think he has it, but he does. There is NO way around entering the master password in order to make a purchase with a saved credit card or paypal number.  If a money order was sent, the consumer needs to confirm that Kingsisle did in fact CASH it. Just because someone signed for the delivery does not mean it got to the proper place or in the proper department.  The consumer can get a copy of the back of the money order showing it was deposited in their account. Simply contact the company that processed the money order.

Kingsisle needs a major revamp in their customer service and public relations divisions, that is true, but not everything is their fault. As a player for many years, who buys crowns on a regular basis, I know for a fact there is no way around the master password. If the consumer had logged in and entered the master password, the son could have had access but even that log in times out after so long.  If one follows the rules and don't take advantage of glitches like some have, Kingsisle is a reasonable company to work with. Anytime I've had a technical or financial issue they've always replied to me even if I didn't like the reply I still got one. From my experience, for them not to reply at all would mean they didn't get the message to begin with.
