Lost my keys with wedding ring, small light and knife on it and refuse to repay me for it. Gave them the keys to my trade in while I finished up the paperwork on buying my new truck. When I went to get back my keys they could not find them. After looking for a few days they still could not find them.

After realizing that they could not find my keys I told them about my wedding ring and the light and knife but they refuse to pay for anything except for the locksmith to get into my house. And even going so far as to call me a lair.

I'd be a bit confused as to this entire situation as it does seem there is some truth missing here.

You keep your wedding ring on your key chain.  Okay, I have heard of people doing that.  But these people would also just not hand it over to someone who is effectively a stranger.  You would just take the key off of your key ring and give them that ONE key.  Especially if this was at the point of you signing the paperwork and giving them the key to the trade...meaning it was a "done deal".   So your wedding ring and the rest of the keys should actually have never left your hand.  Or are you going to tell us you actually expected to get the keys to the trade back?

But the bigger question is why would you need a locksmith to get into your house?  You are married(hence the wedding ring)..right?  So wouldn't your significant other have a key to the house?  Couldn't you just get a copy of that key made?  Especially since you seem to go back after a few days?  Or did you decide to hang out in a Hotel Room for that time?
