DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!  KEITH JOHNSON (REMEMBER this name in case he changes the name of this company and creates a new fictitious business name), owner of KJ & B Contracting, came to our home at the end of June 2016 to give us a bid for our kitchen, master bathroom, and guest bathroom remodels.  Keith stated that this project would take a total of 15 days to complete.  Based upon the "promised" project completion time, project bid price, and list of overall desires, we felt Keith Johnson was a great fit for the jobs at hand!  Initially, when found Keith Johnson and his business, he had a contractor's license posted on the listing and on the back of his white, 2015 Dodge Ram.  Unfortunately, because of his charm, we didn't research the license number until a later date.  

On July 1, 2016, we decided to move forward with working with Keith.  Keith and one of his employees began demo in our kitchen on July 11th.  The demo of our kitchen has left us without a functional kitchen for 7 weeks this coming Monday, which is completely unexceptable as I have four small children to attend to.  Before the completion of our kitchen, the demo of our guest bathroom took place.  This took place on July 13th.  At that point, I had a non-functional kitchen and one non-functional bathroom. In the front bathroom, the only thing that was completed was the floor tile.  I asked him several times why he didn't complete one project at a time.  His answer was always, that's just the nature of construction.  After demoing the front bathroom and completing the tile, Keith and his worker took my master bathroom vanity out of my master bathroom to use in the front bathroom.  They left me only cold running water in that sink.  Once again, I asked several times to address that issue, but he told me either he'd take care of it or he was two busy!  Shortly thereafter, Keith's employee demoed my master bathroom.  This bathroom was left a complete mess for 5 weeks.  As of Thursday, August 25th, my master bathroom wasn't completed.

 As far as the guest bathroom, it's still nearly non-functional.  As far as my kitchen is concerned...Keith and his workers installed cabinets, which after having several legit contractors come out to analyze the situation, stated were installed improperly and would need to be moved down in order to install the crown molding.  They destroyed our cabinetry when they had a counter person come in to install our counter tops.  They shaved the bottoms of the counters to accommodate the fact that the counters were not level!  They damaged several other portions of cabinets as well.  Our marble counters were cracked by the installer, which of course Keith promised to replace, but several weeks later told my husband that he WOULD NOT replace as he didn't have the financial resources!!  Tile was laid throughout my entire kitchen and family room areas, which was never fully completed.  He also opened up a wall between my front door entry and kitchen in order to accommodate his inaccurate measurements for my refrigerator.  Another thing to add to our long lists of JOB ABANDONMENT!!!  

Throughout, the duration of the job, Keith has had several excuses as to why there were no shows, providing supplies, and slow production due to absenteeism.  He is a habitual liar, thief, con-artist, and scammer.  Due to Keith's dishonesty, it gives honest contractors and/handyman (which at this point he should be called a handyman as he used another individuals contractors license) a bad wrap!  He's a CROOK!!!  All in all, I will be going after Keith Johnson for unlicensed activity and unlawful acts!!  Please use our negative experience with this individual as a precaution to avoid him and his company!
