Just because you have some anonimity on the web and because of this the "freedom" to say as you wish, doesnt mean that what you say isnt going to cost you. It looks pretty cut and dry in the fact that they have spelled out the consiquences of speaking your mind online. Plus its not a "fine" as you have delivered it. Its more of the legal costs accociated with defending themselves from ppl who wish to post negativly. Given the wording involved, it looks like a TOS agreement. If you did not read ALL of it, then you really have no one to blame except yourself.

This is the direction most sites are trending to. Being that the web is a media outlet and practically everyone is on it at some point during the day. This means that you MAY have freedom but it will cost you to use it. Its unfortunate but now a days a must for them. See the general internet going public thinks that they can say whatever they wish with no consiquences. They think that no one can find them. This is as far from the truth as it possibly gets. EVERYTHING is logged at some point somewhere. There is no TRUE anonimity online. Its a illusion fostered by the ignorant, and believed by those equally ignorant of how the entire system works.

Even this post that I write is not protected by the constitution. Even though MY post would be considered a original work by many courts in the land. It falls under different laws due to where the site itself is kept. This is what causes issues. Where a site is hosted. What is printed on that site. So when they charge you $3500 its because they have to use a SEO company to bury the negative information/reviews so its not the first thing to pop up when someone googles them. In the future, I would guard what I wrote if I were you.

Just because you CAN say something online, doesnt mean you SHOULD. Its the same logic the US courts have used to quash freedom of speach complaints. Yelling fire in a crowded theater might seem like harmless fun, but if ANYONE dies or gets injured in ANY way, then your freedom of speach will cost you. Sometimes jailtime, most often then not, it will cost you cash. And as we all know YOUR cash is YOUR value. So just protect yourself in the future by reading what it is you are agreeing to and watch what you post.
