For years my family and I have experienced terrible customer service at the K-mart in Arroyo Grande CA. The employees are s****. />

Recently my mom went in to K-mart to buy paper. There were signs all over saying the paper was on sale and she realized after purchasing that she didnt get the sale price so went back and told the person working in Garden because he was nearby and he told her to take the sign up to the front. So she did and the cashier said she had no way to know that sign belonged to that paper and that she shouldn't have taken the sign up even though she was told to by an employee and said my mom switched it on purpose. It was a dollar difference!! My mom tried to explain she was not a thief and the cashier argued with her and was very condescending about it. The cashier refused to honor the sale price and my mom said forget it and started to leave. As she walked away she heard the cashier say to the next customer "geez, I tried!!" and then they laughed at my mom and mumbled other things as she walked out. My mom was in tears by the time she reached the car. It is the way they handled the situation that was completley uncalled for, immature, rude, and inappropriate. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Then today, only because they have Layaway, I called to ask if they had a trampoline in stock. I was sent to a guy in electronics. I was then on hold for 15 minutes. No one picked up. I hung up and called back and said I was on hold for 15 minutes and no one helped me. A different guy picked up and transferred me to sporting goods. I sat on hold for another 15 minutes, no one picked up. So I called back again, asked for a manager and told her what had happened and that I would never shop there again. She asked if I wanted her to look for something. I said NO im going to Wal-Mart!!! Wal-mart had found it, gave me a price and hung up the phone in less than 2 minutes as opposed to the 30 I wasted with K-mart.

If you need to go to K-mart I would suggest going to the one in Santa Maria it is well worth the drive. At least someone will pay some attention to you there!!! Or even better, go to wal-mart. I am done giving K-mart the chance to either ignore or humiliate us. Plenty of other stores would be happy to have my business!
