Kramer & Frank (MO) If you have to deal with this company GET A LAWYER! Internet

Kramer & Frank is very manipulative. I was paying off my debt until I lost my job. I informed the original company that I had lost my job and was pregnant at the time. A year later I got a court order to appear in court. Midland Funding was suing me for breach of contract and wanting the amount I owe them.
I went to court &  told the judge I was going to hire a lawyer so he rescheduled my court date. I made a bad judgement call and did not hire a lawyer I called the debt collector to arrange something with them. I was told that if I could come up with a large amount, they would put some kind of hold on my debt until I could pay it off. I told them I could not do that so I agreed to pay $50/month to them. I was told they would not send me a bill every month. I made maybe one or two payments but I totally forgot about paying the next 2 months. They started calling me so I returned the call. I was told that because I didn't pay the amount has gone into default.

I sent a check to them last month but my check was returned because another company had froze my bank account which I was using to pay Kramer & Frank. I called them and let them know I would have to send them a money gram or something because the checking account I had been using is frozen thanks to another debt collector. I was informed by the woman that they had a wage garnishment against my last employer. I told her that I no longer work for that company, I was fired back in 2010. I don't see how they can garnish unless they are taking all of my unemployment.

I am trying to get a job so that I can pay this money back and get out of debt. I am barely hanging on right now financially and I have 3 kids to fend for. I did talk a lawyer and she talked to other people about debt collection. I am trying to keep them from taking my car and child support. If I lose that my family and I will be out in the streets. I can't even marry my fiancee because as soon as they find out I am married, they will take all of his money out of his account and we will be screwed. I had to take my name off of my grandmother's bank account because they were trying to take her money since my name was also on the account. My grandmother is 93 years old and cannot travel all the time. I do her banking for her, depositing and withdrawing money for her, taking her checkbook to the bank and have them balance it. I don't have money to get get a lawyer to file bankruptcy and I can't get any assistance from the state because my income is too high.

I warn you that if you have to deal with these people get a lawyer. The lawyer I talked to told me I should have had a lawyer from the beginning and I probably wouldn't be in the mess that I am in right now. So now I am telling you to learn from my mistake. I pray that somehow some way I can get out of this debt.
