About a year ago a friend referred me to the Auto Gallery Porsche dealership in Woodland Hills, CA, to buy a new car. When I went there, they didnt have the car I wanted but said they could order one. While I waited for a new car to be delivered they wanted me to lease another car from them, which they said they would buy back when a suitable new car came in. Since I had a car to drive, I told them I wasnt interested. After checking with the Sales Manager, the sales representative then said they could buy the leased car back at a set price that would cover all the lease payments, etc., since it would only be for three months. My friend had recently done a similar buy-back type of deal with this dealership so I trusted them to keep their promise. Three months later they refused to buy the leased vehicle back for the prearranged amount and have offered $30,000 less than originally promised. They have subsequently fired the sales representative I was dealing with, saying he wasnt authorized to make the deal.

If you DARE do business with this dealership, be sure to get EVERYTHING in writing SIGNED and AUTHORIZED by only the OWNER, Harrison Gray, before agreeing to ANYTHING, or they could just fire your salesman and claim he was not authorized to make your deal!

There are a lot of complaints in the auto industry about dealerships, About companies to provide services to customers who own cars and trucks And we must not forget about the various companies that sell data regarding vehicle identification numbers and the history of cars. For consumers to get information there is no guarantee that they might be getting the real truthful information about the cars past history.

The information that you have to pay for there's no guarantee that you're going to get a truthful information. We all know that a lot of major rental car Companies don't want the cars that they own identified or labeled as rental cars, If the car is the date use as rental cars are labeled in their history reports as previously owned by rental cars it lowers the value when the rental car company tries to sell them.

I feel people need to start a movement posting your vehicle identification number where ever you complain about the issues you're having with your car.  We need to start a movement of free movement where people can do research on a vehicle at no cost.

I at this time am encouraging everybody when you post a story about a call that you rented or you post a story about a car that was involved in an accident and hit your car. If you get a copy of the insurance card of the person that hit you you have that Vehicle Identification number of the car that hit you.

Here is a perfect example of a free vehicle identification search for consumers

GOOGLE this Vehicle identification number and look what pops up on the first page.

Now, GOOGLE this Vehicle identification number

WP0CB2A84BS730248

I tell people if you're going to post a complaint about the vehicle whether it be a car truck RV and you complaining about the troubles you're having with the dealership fixing the car list your vehicle identification number in your complaint.

If you having trouble with a rental car company save copies of the documentation the rental agreement contract and post the vehicle identification number that way people know if they ever google that vehicle identification number more than likely your complaint will pop up Closer to the top of the first page of a Google search.

Remember a vehicle identification number is like Automotive DNA. Let's start a movement post the vehicle identification number  where ever you file a complaint

I previously commented about a dispute I was having with The Auto Gallery and Porsche. Since that time, the situation has been resolved to my satisfaction. I now realize that my dispute with the dealership and Porsche was the result of an unfortunate mutual misunderstanding and miscommunication.

Porsche's lack of consumer support

AUTHOR: RTT - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 24, 2010

I neglected to mention that the (subsequently fired) Auto Gallery Representative I was working with was not just a "salesman" but the Auto Gallery's "Porsche Fleet Manager", who apparently got that position despite being untrained, working as a rogue employee with no supervision and able to make deals without anyone else at the dealership knowing about them!! Yeah right!!

When contacted, Porsche of North America Consumer Support said they don't get involved with the business practices of each individual dealership. With "Consumer Support" like that I know I'll never buy another Porsche!!
