My billing cycle is at the 15th of the month. I paid first and last month of the bill at sign up.

I moved to a location where LA Fitness is too far for me to exercise regularly. Thus, I need to cancel the membership.

According to their deceiving contract (which they did not tell you nor disclose you at the beginning of the signing up) to cancel your membership, you will need come in to the location, ask for a form, fill up the form, send to their headquarters, and wait if they receive the form. And this whole process need to be completed 20 days before your billing cycle start.

I came by the location and finish all those steps on Oct 27. This will give me 20 days before Nov 15. However, I am still charged for the Nov to Dec membership, which should be the last month that I've already paid.

I called and spoke with the reps, then with the manager, explaining the matter. They are holding back and instead argue with me. Thus, I told them that this is such a rip off and that I don't need to listen to this pointless argument.

It's not about the money that they charged me, but it's a matter of principle that they claimed that the cancellation was not until Oct 28 because of the 1 day process for the headquarters to process my cancellation request and that this make it 21 days rather than 20 days prior to my billing cycle.

Oh my goodness... I just cannot believe it. Anyway, I file this complain to warn other consumers that please be very very very cautious of what you are about to sign up for if you go to LA Fitness. I thought that it was a nice and reputable company, but I am definitely WRONG!
