La Rosa Del Monte Express This company should go out of business! Miami Florida

I used this company to move my house items from New York to Miami on July 2004. After I was given a ridiculous price of $ 1,700 for only 44 boxes, no furniture except my daughter's bedroom set, this company delivered my items to Miami. I was missing 5 items and one of the items was broken, my computer desk.

After a couple of phone calls, the company repaired my computer desk and delivered "supposedly" the missing items. Instead of 5 items, I received 4. I was missing a Plastic bin full of college books valued over $ 1,200. After the incident, I have called the company several times and their excuse was that they are still looking for the bin and that as soon as they find it they will contact me. It is already almost May '05 and I still hear the same excuse from them.

I have called the Better Business Bureau and I have tried calling them and trying speaking with the owner of the company, but with no success at all. The only thing I was told was that they can only give $30 which is what their insurance covers. How pathetic! They said to me that they couldn't give me more money because I hadn't purchase the extra insurance, something that the estimator Hector Torres said not to get because it wasn't neccessary since my stuff was already insured through the company. I didn't purchase the extra insurance because he told me that I already had insurance, but he didn't tell me that the moving company only pays $.60 per pound.

Recently, they sent me a letter for me to sign saying that in order for them to pay me $30, I have to sign that letter saying that I can't take them to court or get them in any trouble due to this problem. Another pathetic thing from this company! I am actually getting all my stuff together in order to take this people to Small Claims Court and get the value of the books they lost. They were very valuable to me and were going to be very useful for my future career.

I hope this company learns how to be more responsible and more ethical. If you they can't be ethical, they should get out of business! I hope no one else goes through the hell I have been through with this unethical company.
