After seeing a friend lose a lot of weight, she finally admitted she went to LA Weightloss so I checked out their website and made an appointment. I was struck by the fact the counselors were all "larger" women but the one I actually talked to said that she was on the program too. I took a few days to think it over as I did not have the large amount of up-front money to pay for the plan and mandatory Lites. My husband and I decided to apply for the CareCredit (but that's another story).

All was well and I was losing weight steadily - but I had never before been taught portion control. Some of the Lites were good but there was no way I could afford ALL of the mandatory Lites at once so I bought a smaller bulk amount. Then the business hours changed at the location on West Lake Mead and it was much more difficult to get to the place on work days. The next thing I knew, I saw a news report at 11pm that the West Lake Mead store was closed "due to circumstances beyond their control".

I started searching the internet and following the story due to LA's breach of contract. There is absolutely no way to complete the plan with the doors shut on all of the stores in Las Vegas. I called the 800 number for LA and emailed their customer service asking for a refund. I got the runaround from Jennifer that someone would call me. Nothing. Called the local number given in the recordings asking for a refund. Nothing. Emailed some more to Jennifer - was told to wait for a call. Nothing. Called the local number some more. Nothing. Emailed Jennifer some more asking for a refund - this time I was ignored.

Interesting that the friend who recommended LA called the local recording number. She received a phone call in less than two days. She asked LA Weightloss if there was any way she could still get the 6 boxes of Lites she had still to go on her plan. They were very helpful and sent her 19 boxes of Lites.

There is a statute of limitations and we need to do something before it expires. Looking for anyone else that would like to join in and/or recommend a class action attorney in Las Vegas for breach of contract.
