I subitted my invention to Lambert and Lambert in good faith, hoping their company was legit. They require a score of 96 out of a possible 107 for them to fund your project, I scored a 82.

They say you can submit just an idea and dont need a patent, but they score you negatively just for those things! I have a provisional patent on my invention.

Even with fixing the things they said were wrong with it and adding on points I felt should have been higher I ended up with a score of 95. That lets you know that they dont want you to reach that score, they just want your $199 for their worthless report. It's not even usable by itself since its not based on industry standards, but on their own company's "made up" criteria.

They then include at the end of the report the names of companies they recommend to help you further your invention. More vultures to pick over you and your invention.

If they are the "official good guy" as listed on the United inventors association's site then they should also make it clear on their site that they reject 95% or more of those inventions submitted to them. They should also make it clear that just an idea and not having a full utility patent will "guarantee" that they will reject your idea. By not doing so is a sure sign they are not "Good Guys".

Save your money fellow inventors, try for a grant or a loan and get your invention a utility patent and a manufacturing spec prototype made. It may take longer and cost a fair amount, but it will save you some heart ache and major irritation.

I will be going a bit farther than most, I am sending copy's of this report to the news and media, also to my state senator. I am sure they will form an unbiased opinion of the true validity and value of this report.
Hopefully for Lambert and Lambert I am wrong about them, but I wont hold my breath! :)

Thomas' Invention Has Already Been Patented By Others

AUTHOR: Trevor - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 15, 2008

I received an email from Thomas regarding his dissatisfaction with our evaluation on the same day that he posted his complaint on this website. It is unfortunate since the misunderstanding has been resolved since and on a recent phone conversation he said that he would rescind his posting.

Nevertheless, I'm at a bit of a disadvantage in clearing up this misunderstanding since we signed a Nondisclosure Agreement and so cannot speak of the specifics of Mr. Thomas' invention. At its basics, we performed an evaluation which consists of a patent search and analysis of competing products to ascertain the invention's novelty (among other things). For more information on our evaluation please see our website at: www.lambertinvent.com/evaluation.htm.

In our research we uncovered inventions that had been patented in the past which threaten the success of commercializing the item. As a result, he lost points in our evaluation not because it was unpatented but because there were similar items already on the market. We do not punish inventors in our evaluation who do not have a patent but have a novel invention.

Our company has been in business for over 6 years and we are dedicated to providing sound, unbiased advice and information to inventors on their invention. More importantly we work on contingency and sincerely hope that every inventor that walks through the door has that great new product that we can represent and make royalties. For a sampling of some of our successful products (some of which are currently available in Walmart, Target, ToysRUs and others), please see our website at: www.lambertinvent.com/success.htm.

I disagree with some of his other points regarding how inventors should proceed with seeking to license or commercialize their invention but it falls outside the scope of his complaint so I won't mention it here. Our approach is low-cost and effective and I would gladly discuss the details of our process with anyone interested in working with our firm.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me or one of my associates in the office.

Thank you,
