Lander's Nissan ran an ad July 11 for the weekend which read: Every New 09 Nissan Altima 0 % Apr 36 months OR $17,490. My wife and I went Sunday July 12 to check it out as we were interested in an Altima. When I showed the sales person (Shaq Williams) the ad he was looking for the small print, but there was none. He took me to the sales manager Deon. Deon looked also for the small print and there was none so he said that he was just getting back from vacation and would check into the AD. Of course I told him he would blame it on the paper. I said that I would but the 2009 Nissan Altima 2.5 SC that was in the show room for the $17,490. He wanted to investigate first. He dropped the price from $23,595 to $20,595, but the ad said $17,490 and that is all I would pay. He did not call me Monday so I called him Tuesday and of course he told me it was the papers fault and they could not do that. To me that was false advertising to get people to come in and then sell them other cars. I still have the AD and there is no small print. A new AD came out today, 7-18-09 with the same wording as last weeks ad. The sales manager is NOT on vacation. So what is the deal on this? A scam to get people into the Dealership and sell them higher priced cars. Beware of this dealership.

LANDERS NISSAN False And Misleading Advertising Southaven Mississippi

AUTHOR: Ken - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 20, 2009

I made a report July 16, yesterday about their false advertising from the Sunday paper of July 12th and the sales manager said that he was on vacation and the ad was a mistake. You can see this Ripoff Report on 7-16-09 @ 12:05pm. He said that he would have the Commercial Appeal (local paper) write me a letter telling me it was their mistake. Well, today, in the very same paper, is the identical ad. And the sales manager is not on vacation today. The ad states that EVERY 90 Nissan Altima is on sale for $17,490. It does say Every. Then when you go, they meant that it is just the one with the standard package. To me this is false and misleading advertising just to get people in to the dealership and then lie about you did the AD. I have reported it to the BBB. Have any of you noticed things like this?
