Do not ever buy from this dealership!  They submit false claims and add additional prices to your contract that are not legal or authorized.  In my case, they added a large purchase amount for a piece of junk car.  Added incentives to the contract that I did not agree to and scammed me on the paperwork.  I now own a piece of junk car that has been overpaid.  The salesmen and finance managers do not know how to do their job.  They will initially tell you one thing and them give you something completely different.  Now I am stuck with a car forever that is over paid for and is the worst car ever owned.  This company is a scam, a fraud and commit illegal activities.

One Question

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, February 12, 2017

As I understand it, you bought a car at this place and you ended up paying more than you agreed to pay. At the closing of the deal and the signing of the contract, this contract contained all the financial information including prices. How is it you can end up paying more than you agreed to if the amounts were part of the contract? Did you even bother to read the contract? You signed this legally binding document. How is it you would end up paying more than what you wanted to pay? Let me guess...you didn't even bother to read the contract before you signed it and that's all the fault of the dealer, is that right?

Question..

Just how could they add all of these things to your contract?

Did they just hand you a blank piece of paper and told you to sign?

If you are accusing them of forging your signature then get an attorney and sue them.  If this is just a case of buyer's remorse, then enjoy your new car.

By the way it is not "forever", as long as you make the payments you agreed to in the written contract on-time, every time, it will only be for as long as it states in the written contract.

You aren't stuck

What you describe is happening all across the country in many (nearly all) dealerships.  The person in the finance office of the dealership is actually trained to add items without customer authorization.  Why?  Because the minute you sign the contract without removing those items, you have authorized it.

Is it unethical? Yes. Is it illegal? No. It happens every day in nearly every dealership.

But the finance person wouldn't get away with it if you did the following:

  1. Read the contract in its entirety before signing anything.
  2. When you see these add on's that you don't agree to - have the finance person remove them immediately before signing OR walk away without signing anything.
  3. Get your financing from a credit union before you go buy a vehicle and avoid the finance trap at the dealership.

Dealerships have been getting away with these tricks for decades. The person that has to stop it is each and every consumer at the moment you are asked to buy.  Verbal negotiations with the sales rep mean nothing if the written contract you sign says something else.  You have all the power before you sign - afterward, you are stuck until the loan is paid in full.

Solution to your current issue:  you can either sell the vehicle or refinance it. If you have a warranty on it - cancel the warranty and have the credit applied to your outstanding balance. Canceling it should save you thousands. If you have gap insurance through the dealership, cancel it and apply the credit to your balance. Look for other "add on's" that you can get rid of and get a credit. Then after getting all those credits to reduce your outstanding balance, refi the loan into a decent loan or sell the vehicle. Next time you buy a vehicle, bring in someone that knows what to look out for and can help you. Plus, do your research before you buy.
