I am a contractor who provided construction services for Tonellotto Construction. At the same time, that company did some work for me. When the invoices were completed and the totals compared, Tonellotto Construction ended up owing me a substantial amount of money. After seeking payment many times with no success, I was asked to exchange checks.
Feeling frustrated, I refused that exchange, and said that I would only accept a certified check or cash. The reply was very rude and concluded with, “We will see you in court!” and hung - up. I did indeed take them to court. With the invoices that originally came from Tonellotto Construction (a non-registered company), they changed the company name and countersued under the registered company name Landside Landscape Group, which is the legal company name. When all the evidence was provided to the court, Tonellotto Construction (Landside Landscape Group) agreed to settle for almost all of what they owed.
