 I am a single mother of 6, and went into Larry Miller Dodge with the promise that with my small down payment (I had been hit by another driver and my previous vehicle totaled unexpectedly) that they would get me financed and into a car, or they would not waste my time.  They made it sound like they had respect for me as a person.  I was very wrong.

They played the classic game that all auto dealers play.  I drove for six days before a man named Alfie Safa called me and said they needed an additional $900 down or they would not get me financed.  I said ok, I do not have it, so when can I bring you your vehicle back and get my money back?  They informed me that I should bring it back asap.  I stayed in contact with them for an additional 24 hours to make sure nothing changed and I definitely was going to need to bring the car back and they continually advised me to do so.  They also continued to assure me that I would get my down payment back. 

When I got to the dealership with the car, my children in tow.  Alfie proceeded to publically humiliate me saying that I was a liar, and he never spoke to me demanding more money.  He told me that he was the man that makes the ultimate decisions around there and that he would never give us our money back.  He said that I was the one backing out of the deal and therefore was forfeiting my 500 dollars I had given them. 

I began to cry, asking him why he was doing this to me.  He laughed at me and continued to advise me that he has every right to keep my money and that I could leave his office.  In my 27 years of life, I have never been treated so badly by someone I had never met.  It felt like a nightmare when he laughed in my face saying that he had never spoken to me and that I was a liar. 

I walked out with no car and no refund. 

Please never purchase a vehicle from Larry Miller Dodge.  They ill take advantage of your needs and stomp on you afterward.

Refunded but it doesnt change my experience

 I was refunded today. I have to say that their general manager treated me well when I came and made a complaint about alfie safa. my refund will never take back the way I was treated though. Perhaps, legally they made things right, but you cant turn back time. I hope no one has to be treated the way I was.

I believe it is illegal for a car dealership to keep a down payment from a customer for a car if they cannot get you financed. They can charge a small fee for mileage that you put on the car, as long as they had you sign paperwork stating the terms and conditions.

If I were you, I would send a copy of your Ripoff Report to all of your Local TV News stations in your city and put it to the attention of 'Investigative Reporter'. There is a chance that someone will contact you and do a story on TV. Make sure to provide copies of all the paperwork that the dealership gave you. 

Feel free to type in 1089665 at this site and read Ripoff Report #1089665 and all of the consumer comments for important information. It appears that someone at the dealership falsified Guy's credit application. If this is true, then the dealership may be guilty of fraud.

  the contract doesn't say anything about a refund. the paperwork that I sign called spot delivery states that in the event within 7 days I have not been financed, that I must return the vehicle and my down payment will be refunded immediately. the problem is that when I came in, the finance guy denied ever speaking to me and had written up a brand new contract, where no more money was required down. he tried to say he got me finance but I know that's not true. after the way he really did me I would never buy a car from them even if I was financed. I refuse to sign the new contract and demanded my money, and I was shot down like I was worth nothing.

What Does The Contract Say?

READ THE CONTRACT.  Is there a clause which specifically addresses to refund policy?  If so, does it say they will refund based on a failure to obtain financing?  If so, then take them to small claims court.

Auto dealer fraud investigator,

When I 'Googled' this- LARRY H MILLER WIKIPEDIA, I was able to go to the Wikipedia website and find out that Larry H. Miller had a heart attack in June of 2008, and in early 2009 he had both of his legs amputated six inches below his knees. I also learned that he died on February 20th, 2009 at the age of 64.

I also stayed at this website and typed in- LARRY MILLER, and found that there are approximately 80 Ripoff Reports. I clicked on Ripoff Report #331575, which was submitted by Carol of Glendale, Arizona, and read her Ripoff Report and was able to read a poem in the consumer comments section of her Ripoff Report entitled "FORGERY AT TOYOTA POEM".

Lisa Go Google Larry H Miller reviews And look what pops up on the first page It sure makes me feel that he does not care about its customers were he does not know

Lisa I will do whatever I can to make sure that you get your deposit back. I'm very well-known in the auto industry and I do know how to make WAVES !

 

The only thing that I ask you to do is post an update on your report once you get your money back.  Do not I repeat do not release any of the documentation that you have. There is a reason for that and I will explain later.  Under no circumstances Do you have to give any of that documentation back it is not against the law to keep the paperwork. 

 

Trust me I will help you get your money back. I will not leave this issue unresolved trust me. I am tired of car dealerships hiring crazy people in the finance departments. I'm not saying this guys crazy but I don't like what I hear.
