My husband and I went to Larry H Miller because his company had done some work for them and they promised us "employee pricing." From the moment we pulled into the lot they began lying to us. Our salesman, Chad Smith, said he would give us an extended warrenty on the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee we were buying to make up for the high miles. That was conviently left off the contract.
We were also told that the down payment would only be $500, but when we went back in to sign the paperwork it went up to $1500. Then they told us that they went through our Credit Union, when in fact, they went through their own financial company, Landcar Agency.
When I found out the remote for the locks didn't work I took the Jeep back in, and they said that it was a part in the truck, not the remote, and it would cost $600 to fix. Today is the 4th time they have had the jeep in 2 weeks still trying to fix the SAME problem.
They will not give us our trade in back, an 2005 minivan, it has been 2 weeks, and counting. The sales manager, Wes, (no one else in the store will even speak to me) said he can do nothing for me. "Bring the jeep back as many times as it takes to get it fixed right. But we will not take the Jeep back, and we can't give you your van back either."
Isn't there something about a lemon law???

Larry H. Miller and Utah's Lemon Law for Used Cars

Like any used car salesperson, Larry knows that there isn't a used car lemon law in Utah. However, there are other avenues available to disgruntled buyers in Utah of Larry's used cars. I did a search to check this out and lo and behold the exact same vehicle type and described problem came up without even using any key words to make that happen .... wow!
For Utah buyers, the Federal Trade Commission provides opportunities for relief. See,

I have worked at the Larry H. Miller Used Car Supermarket for over 3 yrs now. I find it interesting that this customer only brought up half the facts, and some of her facts are flat out wrong. First things first, no there is no "Lemon Law" on used cars, that only pertains to new cars. Secondly, Landcar Agency is not a lending institution it is the management group of Larry H. Millers that offers extended warranties. So it is very unlikely that Landcar Agency is carrying your financing.
Third, I would imagine that Prestige Financial is your lender, which is owned by Larry H. Miller as a secondary finance group. By secondary finance that means your credit is less then perfect and you need to re-establish your credit. If more money down was required in to finance your new purchase you need to ask yourself, how upside down was I in my trade? If you have large amounts of negative equity you need to put money down. Lastly, Chad Smith is a co-worker of mine and I have never seen anyone that works harder for his customers and is more honest, direct and friendly. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, however; take some ownership for your actions. We have never forced any one to sign contracts, and if I remember right the Jeep did get fixed.
