Contracted workers that earn on average $6.00 per hour are being charged $5.oo for parking per day that come to work between the hours of 1pm and 5:30 pm. Mind you they are not coming to these convention shows, they are coming to do clerical work,clean or guard the facility! The powers that be threaten to tow their vehicles and especially do not like those who have military or pro government stickers on their cars. These workers are in uniform and can produce valid work identification. If you pay the fee without recieving a reciept for parking, attendants will allow you to park. Minorities and women are their usual targets for the discriminatory practice. Morning and graveyard shifts are not charged parking fees.
Workers with valid handicapped stickers on their vehicles are not allowed to park in close proximity to the facility when conventions are in the building. Isn't it illegal to charge employees and contracted workers a parking fee?
