On July 17th, 2013 I bought our family holiday flight tickets by telephone from last minute.com to travel on 25th of August to canada. A week later, I found out that we will need the USA transit visa because our flights was routed through Minneapolis in US. I quickly ran the customer service number which to my suprise was being answered in India. I am very angry that the sale person had not given us the required or adequate information to before the purchase. They were only interested in taking payment from the card.
Initially they declined to accept that it was there responsibility to inform me if we have the type of passport that may allow us to travel through US or simplying telling us before we proceed to payment that the journey may require that we have a US transit Visa. After several minutes of talking on they phone they finally admitted the error and promised to resolved the matter.
Between today August 2nd 2013 and July 25th, 2013 I have sent more than 7 emails, and likewise calling the company everydays to get this matter resolve ASAP.
This company does not honestly look like a genuine comapany, there are many things that looks dodge about the company. I am not again a comapny having it call center outside london, but while I was trying to find out more about this company I was very shocked to see many many negative and bad comments that customers had made as a result of their experience with LAST MINUTE.COM
My singel question is that what should we do? should we allow this to continue? which government regulatory authority can we report this to?
The cost of my family ticket is £1,686.87. This issue is yet to be resolve. It is clearly that calling and emailing will never work. Our plan is to travel on 25th august 2013 but with what last minute.com is doing, just beating the time so that they will not refund our money.
PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!!
Danny

You may need to look at this site -- http://www.airnewzealand.co.uk/us-entry-and-transit-requirements and you may end up to fill in the waiver form at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/esta.html ... You can check eligibility for your home country at http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/without/without_1990.html just in case (UK is in the list).
You need to understand what need and not need. Do not be panic. Look for more information online. I am guessing what you really need is to apply for the visa waiver program at least 72 hours before you fly. Hope this help.
