I received a voice mail on my work number from a man with a very heavy accent (sounded like from India), "Officer Scott" from Law Investigation Department.  He stated there is a lawsuit filed on my name and social security number and the US government has my social security number blocked.  He said my house is being investigated (and he stated the first part of my address) and I needed to contact him back or I "will be in trouble".  He said he knows that I am a "good person" so I need to call 412-360-8420 (which when I called back, invalid number) otherwise he has no idea what will happen to me.

The number that showed up on my caller ID showed "International Call" and the number was 052173896 (which Phone Finder says its from Mexico).

I have no clue what this is about so I googled "law Investigation Department" only to find these other reports which are very disturbing to me.  The voice mail was in a threatening nature and I am very upset.  I am researching how to report these people further.  Could you imagine if they called an elderly woman, for example, with this type of threat.  Your "house is being investigated" and the US government has your social security # blocked?????

How can these people get away with this stuff??

This sounds like a scam

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

This sounds like a scam, your name, phone number and "the first part of your address" can be found via online phonebooks. I believe that if he had reached you he would ask you to "confirm your Social Security number" or something like that to glean your personal data. I would advise against trying to contact him and if he calls back you should request a number where you can reach him, saying that you will call him back, so that you can report the call to authorities.
