Law office of William Ausman Withheld legal information, Fees were unconscionable, Continued services after case was over Atascadero California

This family law attorney failed to discuss important issues that had we had known from the onset, we would have not given this attorney a sizeable amount of money to retain his services.  However the attorney failed to inform us that because we were dealing with child custody issues from another state, the other state would take jurisdiction and therefore the California case would be dismissed.   Once we learned that the other state could get jurisdiction, attorney Ausman was submissive of any of our concerns and didn't fight for California having jurisdiction.  Instead he continued appearing at court hearings to have them continued at his normal hourly rate rather than asking for a continuance prior to any hearings to save attorney fees.  Once we realized what was happening Mr. Ausman's office conveniently exhausted all of our retaining fee and claimed we owed an additonal amount for his services when in fact the only service that his office provided was filing the initial paperwork with the court.   Mr. Ausman's billing included appearances in court that he never made, charged attorney rates for running errands to the courthouse,  etc and when questioned about the charges no correction was ever made.   Family law is an emotional time in your life where it helps to have an attorney that will be upfront with your legal rights so that you know where you stand and how to proceed.  Not withhold information from you so that you will invest all of your money in their services so that they gain financially on a case that isn't going to go anywhere.  That's what you will get if you hire the law office of William Ausman.
