LD Products 4inkjets Product broke my printer (cost $135 to repair) Long Beach, California

LD Products (aka/dba 4inkjets) sells refurbished ink toner cartridges.  They are a seller on Amazon.com which is where I had the unfortunate opportunity to deal with them.  They had a 3 cartridge deal.  Though I only needed one immediately, the price seemed too good to pass up.  And, at the time, I trusted Amazon.com.

When the product arrived I installed one cartridge immediately.  The printer worked fine.  I was happy.  However, a couple of months later I replaced the other two I bought.  The printer made a grinding noise and the carousel locked up.  This printer is a high volume business machine ($850 new) not a freebie they give away when you buy a new computer.  Bad odds 2/3 faulty.

The first repair center I took the printer to said it would be cheaper to replace than repair.  An $850 machine broken beyond repair!  However, I called another company who was able to repair it for $135 and have in my possession a written statement from the factory authorized technician stating it was in fact two of the three cartridges that caused the problem.

I contacted Amazon.com who told me they wouldn't do anything at first (read on).  Amazon told me to contact the seller, 4inkjets / LD Products.  The first representative I spoke to (Valinta) said, and I quote, "We sold it to Amazon.  Other than the fact that it's our product, it's not our responsibility."  I asked to speak to her supervisor who was, conveniently, unavailable.  I got her name and extension (Brenna Welch 888-321-2552 x.7071) then left a voicemail.  On four occasions I left Ms. Welch voicemails (1/12/13, 1/14/13, 1/23/13, 1/23/13).  NONE of the voicemails I left were returned.

If you work for LD and are about to file a rebuttal to my conversation (as I've seen on this site before), know this ... I recorded all conversations and voicemails and will make them available on my own website or Facebook page if you state something untrue.  They may not be admissible in a court of law (depending on jurisdiction) but they'll sure carry a lot of weight in the court of public opinion.  Go ahead.  I dare you.

Back to Amazon...I eventually received a refund from Amazon.  However, this did not resolve the $135 repair bill which resulted from their/LD's products.  Amazon.com and LD keep pointing fingers at each other.  Neither will own up to the fact that had it not been for their product, my printer would not have needed the repair.

They think they'll blow me off and I'll eventually tire and go away.  They're mistaken.  I don't treat my customers this way and I wear my heart on my sleave.  If I can convince 10 of you not to buy LD / 4inkjets products, I've cost them more than the $135 it took to repair my machine.  Perhaps they should have returned my numerous calls to at least attempt to make things right.

Caveat emptor.  If, after reading this, you buy from LD Products / 4inkjets / Amazon and have a problem, I'm sorry to say I TOLD YOU SO!
