Leading Edge Recovery Solutions ripoff - Received call from a lady getting loud about a debt I owed. She said they had contacted me, however, I only received a letter dated May 2, 2006. Chicago Illinois

She said I owed this debt, and wanted to know if I thought I was going to get away without satisfying the debt.

She then told me that her client was taking me to court in my state of PA on May 19, 2006. She wanted to know if I had a lawyer. I explained to her that I was having finacial problems.

She did not want to hear any of it. She continued to badger me all the time reminding me that the conversation was being recorded. She wanted me to pay the debt now.
Again, I stated that I did not have the funds.
She got very aggressive in her tone, and stated that I am refusing to satisfy the debt. She said I left no alternate than to have her client proceed with the court proceedings.

I panicked and asked if there was a way to make payments.
She siad that I would have to make a downpayment of 10% of the debt, along with 5 additional payments.
After the last payment, she said we could revisit the amount of the debt.

Now I received a second letter on another account with this same company. I will not be able to afford another amount, nor an I in the mood to be put through the mud again.

What rights do I have as a consumer. Can they make this threat of proceeding with a law suit against me.
What are my alternates with respect to this.

It is unfair to have someone talk to me in the manner in which I was humailiated by this person. I asked her why she would belittle me like that, and she said she was only doing her job.

After I agreed to make the payment schedule, she was the nicest person in the world.

It is just a sad feeling to know that they can get away with this.
