Learning Rx Scam: Preying on Desperate Parents Flower Mound, TX Texas
I have gone back and forth on whether or not to post a complaint but when I think about the amount of money we almost gave this company, it is infuriating!
We had both of our kids "assessed" at this company and the results we received back were astounding. Our kids have consistently struggled in school due to issues with focusing, attention, etc. We've known this; it is no surprise and we would not have sought the program out if we did not feel that we needed some help! However, the test results certainly did not support what we, as parents, know about our kids. The assessment displayed extremely low scores in areas that did not make sense for our kids... Because of the confusing results, we were even more shocked when the location director suggested that both kids be put into their 32-week Einstein program for $13,000 EACH!!
I can say that we did put a lot of thought and concern into our decision because we felt like perhaps we were not doing all we could for them if we did not send them through the program. However, that little voice you hear sometimes just kept saying not to move forward.
I say all of that to get to my next point, we had to get my son re-tested for ADHD for his school. We had a doctor that runs the Neurosceince center at Children's Hospital do the testing for us. She administered several tests, including an IQ test. When I mentioned Learning Rx to her, she instantly stiffened. She indicated that this is a scam and they have absolutely no scientific research to back up their claim.
Also, an interesting point, I mentioned to her that I was told Learning Rx would administer a complete IQ test when/if we signed up the kids. She said that they are not allowed to administer a true IQ test because they are not doctors. I have no idea what we would have seen from the results of their "IQ" test, but my son tested at a very high IQ on the test she administered to him. His results with her made complete sense to us as she identified his weak areas as well as his strengths. We knew that this kid was much smarter than what was indicated on the assessment from Learning Rx.
I could go on with more comments and detais from the doctor but I believe my point is made. This is not a program backed by doctors as there is no scientific research to prove it.
