Legacy Inmate Communications Legacy Collect Charged additional $17.58 for a call that I only authorized for $1.00 Cypress California

On 06/26/2015 my bank account was charged for $17.58, presumably for a call to a jail in Lake County, IL.  I did not make or receive any calls on that day.  The previous day I received a call from an inmate at that jail and approaved a charge in the amount of $1.00.  

After discovering the fraudulant charge, I researched this company and found that I am not alone.  It appears that once they get your bank account information they start charging for either calls you haven't made or calls that you authorized for a significantly lower amount.  What a scam.

 I have contacted the company, asking for a refund.  I also contacted my bank, the Better Business Beuru and this site, hoping for a refund of the $17.58.  Bottom line, be careful of these "collect call" companies.  They will process charges that you do not approave and they seem to be getting away with it.
