SCAM - Legal Shield [Pre-Paid Legal]  - AVOID !!!

case 1 - I cancelled my membership on Friday, faxed it over.  Over weekend, I decided I may need it again so I called that Monday to not cancel it.  They declined, say I'd need to say the initiation fee again. 

case 2 - I called twice and emailed Legal Shield Member Services to cancel my membership, not now, but before the next billing cycle so that I wouldn't get charged again.

They said they'd refund this month's charge but at this time, I cannot verify this because they said itll take a few weeks. 

here's my email, is clear that I don't want it cancelled now, I already paid for it.  I emailed them for the form to cancel, not to cancel my account [dumb, can't they read?]

-- "Pls email me form to cancel my account.  I already paid for this month, this is for before next billing cycle."

here's their reply:

Dear Member,  Thank you for giving us the opportunity to assist with membership 787023534.  Your request has been reviewed and the decision not to reinstate your membership for legal services per company option stands.

If you need further assistance, please contact Member Services at 1-800-654-7757 (USA), or 1-800-440-8857 (Canada), from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM CT, Monday through Friday, and they will be happy to assist you.

My experience w/ LS
-- They lack customer service tremendously MASSIVE UNDER-STATEMENT!! 
-- They don't care if they lose you as a client
-- Their law firms have lawyers who graduate from 3-tier colleges. 
-- I would NOT, NOT, NOT recommend them to anyone !!!   AVOID !!!

You are the one thats indecisive! The response from LS is clear to me. LS's email simply states that your membership will NOT be reinstated (since its a month to month contract), meaning you will NOT be charged again.  Whats the problem?  as for the customer service, in 15 years of my continual membership, I have changed payment forms and dates 7-8 times, address and email updates, added my bf, removed my bf and they have always been nothing but the best!  Maybe its just you!  and the attorneys have saved me over $200,000, they have always been very courteous and complete and their assistance.....yea, its just you!
