Legion Express These people deal in cash only for a reason Chicago Illinois

This claim by Philip Novak could not be any further from the truth! Legion Express Inc sent the lead foreman to the home of Philip Novak to perform a visual estimate of his home and another home which was only a few miles away from the first home. Mr Novak stated that the second home belonged to his girlfriend. We are not sure why he has stated that his name is Felix in this complaint of his. Legion Express Inc provided Philip Novak with a binding estimate for the relocation of both homes.

I have attached the series of emails between Legion Express and Philip Novak and our emails clearly state that we take credit cards from our customers. Anyone can see that the total price that we quoted Mr Novak was for $13,375. Mr Novak asked Legion Express if he can get any discounts for the cost of this relocation. Our email reply to Mr Novak clearly states that we can provide a discount for this move if he pays in certified funds. We explained to him that there are fees that are taken by a merchant when we process a credit card. We explained to Mr Novak that this is an extremely large move that he has and that the $13,375 price we gave him was extremely discounted already. We also attached a link to the Department of Transportation FMCSA website for Mr Novak that shows we are a licensed, bonded and insured company. This link is easily visible in our reply email. We also attached a copy of our insurance in the reply email which. Legion Express then sent Mr Novak a very courteous follow up email the next day stating that they had not heard back from him and that they are available to help him in any way that they can. Legion Express never heard back from Philip Novak and found this complaint on Rip Off Report. 

Legion Express Inc has done absolutely nothing wrong and we have no idea why Philip Novak would even submit a false report like this and under a fake name. We can only assume that Mr Novak is trying to cause harm to the spotless reputation that Legion Express is proud of. Legion Express has NEVER EVER refused to take a credit card from a customer for payment of a relocation that we have performed.

Attached below is the email conversation with Philip Novak. The dates time stamped on the emails. At no point was Mr Novak not given the opportunity to pay with a credit card and any reasonable consumer will take notice that Philip Novak, aka Felix, has any legitimacy to this report on this website. 

Legion Express Inc has tried to contact Mr Novak with no response. We advise Mr Novak to contact Legion Express to address any concerns that he might have. Legion Express Inc has contacted our business attorney and will proceed with a civil lawsuit against Philip Novak for libel and defamation against Legion Express. There is a difference between writing an opinion about an experience that a consumer may have with a company and writing absolute lies about what a company did or did not do.

Legion Express will not tolerate the defamation of its good name and will take legal action against any parties that take part in malicious acts of defamation.

I am attaching a pdf file with our company's insurance information. We do carry $750,000 worth of cargo liability on our insurance policy. Gregory and I discussed your move for a while last night and this is what we can offer. This is not a move that can be profitable for any company if the cost comes in at under $12,000. That amount of time, labor and equipment involved with this move is just too great. Option 1 would be to lower the total price of this move to $12,000 if it is paid in certified funds. Option number 2 is $13,000 with half of this paid in credit card with no fees and the other half paid in certified funds. Option number 3 is $13,000 and to pay with a credit card and there will be a 3% convenience fee attached to the job order. 

 

Whatever you do decide in the end please keep in mind that any reputable company will not charge less than $14,000 for a move this size. The last move we did that was comparable to this one was only one home at 2800 cubic feet and the price of that move was $11,500 and that profit margin was slim. That move was 1200 cubic feet less than yours in size. Your move comes in at over 3800 cubic feet.

 

I have been moving people for 10 years and have just about seen it all. I have seen customers use another company at times for a large move because they wanted to save a few dollars and in the end they called me and wished they had used my services. You will get what you pay for and it will reflect in the foreman, crews and equipment that show up to move your homes. I have seen companies send rental trucks and and laborer's from Craigslist to do a move this size because they are not equipped to handle this. They are forced to save all the money they can by taking shortcuts and cannot afford to send their regular crews because they have tried to under bid all other companies and in turn have under quoted a customer. Some people think well it's just moving but their is a huge difference between professional movers and some guys that just carry furniture. This is not a sales pitch I promise. This is the truth of the matter. 

 

Give this some thought and let me know what your thoughts are. You can search for a mover for the next two weeks but I promise you that any reputable company cannot do this for less than the price we I have given here. You will be getting professional, experienced crews with Legion Express. We do not have any complaints and this is for a reason. It is because Legion Express provides the best moving services possible at a rate that is usually better than any other moving company, whether that company be a good one or not. This Moving  Estimate Includes: Professional Door to Door Service. Disassembly and reassembly of standard furniture items disassembled by movers at pick up. Loading and unloading of all furniture, household goods, and boxes. No charge for elevators or first flight of stairs (10 steps) Standard Cargo Protection. Up to $10,000 based on $0.60/lb. per article; if selected at time of pick up. All taxes, tolls, fuel, fuel-surcharges and mileage. Blanket wrapping of furniture. 30 days free  storage for  Interstate moves only. Shipper must request storage at the time the reservation is prepared. No charge for date changes made outside of seven (7) days before first original load date. Payment  Terms: The customer will pay 20% of the total move estimate or $300, whichever is greater, to have the reservation placed on our calendar and to guarantee that the space on our truck is reserved for their move. This payment will be deducted from the total cost of the move and the balance will be paid in two parts. 50% of the remaining balance will be collected at pick up by carrier in Postal Money Order, Cashier Check or Cash. (Legion Express Inc. may hold the right to collect up to 70% of balance at pick up) Remaining balance is due at delivery in full by Postal Money Order or cash prior to unloading   household goods. If payment is not made in full at delivery prior to unloading, the carrier holds the right to place goods in storage until payment is made in full including storage and re-delivery fees. Additional  Accessorial Services and Fees: Packing of breakable items like Mirrors, TV’s, Glass, and/or Crating Services. Packing supplies such as boxes, shrink wrap, and bubble wrap if not included in the original estimate. NOTE:Unless packing services are specified in the Packing Material List of this agreement, to avoid any   additional packing charges please have all books, clothes, dishes, mirrors, pictures, table lamps, items in drawers, TV’s and electronics packed in a box   and ready to transport. First flight of stairs is free (10 steps). Each additional flight of stairs is $75.00 Long Carry: first 100ft are free. If the shipper  decides to cancel the move inside seven (7) business days prior to first pack or load date, there will be a $99.00 cancelation fee deducted from your refund.  Deposits will be 100% refundable  with No Cancellation Fee or Additional Charges for moves cancelled outside seven (7) business days prior to the first estimated pack or load date listed above (whichever applies). I understand that  if I change my load dates up closer than the original load dates, the cancellation policy applies to the new load dates. If load dates are changed to later dates, the cancellation policy applies to the original load dates. All cancellation and refund requests must be done in writing. Cancellation  requests sent to Legion Express Inc. after normal business hours (7:00 PM EST) will be c onsidered received on the following day. Federal regulation requires Legion Express Inc. to honor original estimate, if foreman has loaded   truck prior to shipper signing and agreeing to revised estimate. You should not allow the moving crew to load the truck or perform any services until the revised estimate has been signed and agreed to by you, the shipper. Do not sign blank moving documents. If the foreman presents you blank moving documents to sign, please contact Legion Express Inc. as soon as possible. If you can, please take pictures of the blank document. By electronically  signing this agreement, I have read, understood and I am agreeing to the Company  refund/cancellation policy and the following: The quoted prices and terms are based on the information provided at the time the reservation was made. The items in the inventory have been calculated to an estimated weight/volume or minimum used to determine the transportation requirements upon which your price is determined. Any changes to your inventory may result in different terms and prices uniform with the Legion Express Inc. tariff. If any additional items, services, packing of items, or labor are added or required at the destination or origin then you may be charged for those services and/or items at full tariff rates. Based on the load size and mileage of your move, delivery may take anywhere from 1-21 business days. Estimated time of delivery is determined by many factors beyond the control of Legion Express Inc. such as traffic delays, weather delays, mechanical issues, other customers on the route and/or any acts of God.   Estimated delivery spreads: 0-500 miles: 0-4 business days. 501-1000miles: 1-8 business days. 1001-1500 miles:   2-12 business days. 1501-2000 miles: 3-15 business days. 2001-2500 miles: 4-18 business days. 2501-3000 miles: 5-21 business days.   These estimated windows begin on the shipper’s first available delivery date. Goods may b warehoused before delivery. Any situations on delivery such as, no delivery before or after a certain time, or no weekend delivery may cause your delivery schedule to go past the estimated time and may incur additional fees. In the event of any conflict between the Bill of Lading and the terms of any estimate, the terms of the Bill of Lading shall control. The estimated delivery dates and estimated price listed on this agreement is based on a flexible schedule as well as accessible conditions at both pickup & delivery locations. Moves that are picked up outside of their respected pick up dates, due to delays, are eligible for compensation of up to $50 per day depending on the number of days late the customer was serviced. Customer is not eligible for a refund of the deposit for moves picked up outside of their respected pick up dates.   I have reviewed the brochure’s “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move” and “Ready to   move? - Tips For A Successful Move” This agreement between Legion Express Inc. and you represents the entire current understanding and over rules all other understandings, representations and negotiations made by and between such parties including representations made by any estimator. Gregory and I discussed your move for a while last night and this is what we can offer. This is not a move that can be profitable for any company if the cost comes in at under $12,000. That amount of time, labor and equipment involved with this move is just too great. Option 1 would be to lower the total price of this move to $12,000 if it is paid in certified funds. Option number 2 is $13,000 with half of this paid in credit card with no fees and the other half paid in certified funds. Option number 3 is $13,000 and to pay with a credit card and there will be a 3% convenience fee attached to the job order. 

 

Whatever you do decide in the end please keep in mind that any reputable company will not charge less than $14,000 for a move this size. The last move we did that was comparable to this one was only one home at 2800 cubic feet and the price of that move was $11,500 and that profit margin was slim. That move was 1200 cubic feet less than yours in size. Your move comes in at over 3800 cubic feet.

 

I have been moving people for 10 years and have just about seen it all. I have seen customers use another company at times for a large move because they wanted to save a few dollars and in the end they called me and wished they had used my services. You will get what you pay for and it will reflect in the foreman, crews and equipment that show up to move your homes. I have seen companies send rental trucks and and laborer's from Craigslist to do a move this size because they are not equipped to handle this. They are forced to save all the money they can by taking shortcuts and cannot afford to send their regular crews because they have tried to under bid all other companies and in turn have under quoted a customer. Some people think well it's just moving but their is a huge difference between professional movers and some guys that just carry furniture. This is not a sales pitch I promise. This is the truth of the matter. 

 

Give this some thought and let me know what your thoughts are. You can search for a mover for the next two weeks but I promise you that any reputable company cannot do this for less than the price we I have given here. You will be getting professional, experienced crews with Legion Express. We do not have any complaints and this is for a reason. It is because Legion Express provides the best moving services possible at a rate that is usually better than any other moving company, whether that company be a good one or not.
