In November, 2013, we recieved a phone call inviting us to dinner to discuss our timeshare. We accepted this invitation, thinking that it was our timeshare updating our info. When we got to the dinner, we were told that it was not a update on our current timeshare but they would show us how to make money to cover our maintenance cost with our current timeshare. (false advertising?)

The pressure was really put on about how they would help us with these costs. So we bought, (hook, line and sinker). We were pressured to open an American Express Credit Card (one for me, one for my husband)

We bought points in RCI thru Leisure Getaways and were told that we would recieve 12,500 points that we could rent and pay our other maintenance fees. (a very slick presentation) ($6500)

As soon as we recieved our credit cards, we recieved a call from Jeff, who was one of the agents, telling us that the total amount had been charged to our card. He would call us and tell us how to procede with the rentals.

We did not receive a phone call from Jeff so I called him and left a message for him to call me. No response.

Called again and left message...no response.

Called Jamie Wheeler, the sales person....no response.

Today I called Leisure Getaways and was told that none of these people were with the company anymore. Was told that "no they did not help with rentals"

I talked to Karen at Leisure Getaways and asked if there was anyway we could get out of the contract and I was told "no way". "it is a legal binding contract and I had six days to get out of the contract and that is all".

Karen said that she would call me back next week. We will wait and see. There has to be a way to stop this kind of business. Goverment has their hand in everything else but they let these companies run rough shod over people with their pressure sells and lies.

There has to be help from somewhere.
