This is a story about two different stores and how they treated the same customer.

Monday, May 7th 2007, I drove into the Les Schwab center in Gig Harbor, located off olympic dr. I walked in, (no sudden service) approached the desk and when asked by the receptionist what sh could do for me I asked for two tires. I was asked what size? Told her, "I dont know". She huffed Visibly, and said she would go check. I waited and when she came back she informed me that those tires would cost 250.00 to replace. I said that would be fine, handed off my keys, and sat down to some popcorn. Read the entire Tacoma News Tribune, read an auto trader that was sitting there, watched part of some news program. 45 minutes later I looked up to see my truck sitting right where I left it... I waited my turn in a short line that had formed and when I got back up to the receptionist I asked for my key back. The manager argued with me about giving it back to me stating that they were backed up. I asked for my key again, never rising to the bait he offered me, and left the store. After trading with Les schwab since I was 18 I was done in my mind.

Thursday May 10th, 2007 I developed a slow leak in one of uncle les's finest and bacause I hadnt had time to get over to discount tire yet I drove up to the les schwab in Lakewood to get my tire fixed. THE MANAGER met me at my truck, and when I asked him how much for two tires for my truck, his quote was for 150.00..... Imagine my surprise. Not only that but when I asked how long before I would get into a bay, he took my keys and drove the truck in himself immediately..... I never said a word about my previous experince that week in Gig Harbor.

I find the whole series of events very interesting and a bit disturbing. Three cheers to the manager in Lakewood for living up to the standards that Les Schwab promises in their ads.

I will never recommend les schwabs operation in Gig harbor. Well, theres my story. Guess I was mad enough at my wasted time to take the time to write about it.

Les Schwab Gig Harbor is a Fine store

AUTHOR: tipster - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 19, 2010

I've never had a bad experience at the Gig Harbor Les Schwab store.  I've traded there since I moved to Gig Harbor 1/1/2004.   They have always been very fair and one time exceeded my expectations.   I bought a boat trailer tire that went flat after hauling the boat to the water once.   On expection they proved to me that the tire went flat because I ran up on the curb and damaged the sidewall of the tire.  Eventhough it was my fault they replaced the tire free of charge.  That sounds like good customer relations to me.
