I was contacted through careerbuilder.com by a company called Lex Inc.  They wanted to offer me a probationary position as a virtual assistant.  The web site seemed very professional and legit.  My first assignment was to contact a Russian artist and negotiate the re-creation of a damaged painting.  I started to question the legitimacy of the company when I received a reply from the "Artist" in Russia.  His email read like some one trying to type as if they do not speak very good English, it seemed fake.  The second email I received had the red flags for me.  Over and over he mentions the only way to send him payment for the painting is Western Union.  Every scam I have ever had contact with either personally or through a friend has one thing in common, Western Union.  No legitimit company or organization will use western union.  It
just doesn't happen.  Companies have bank accounts and banks transfer money.  Criminals use western union because cash is nearly impossible to trace.  After my suspicion was raised I did some research and found this site.  Two other reports from two seperate people outlined the same scenario about the Russian artist.  How many damaged paintings does this guy have.
