LG Electronics USA Crappy DVD Combo and no customer service Huntsville Alabama

I bought an LG DVD combo unit back on December 1st 2006. Within 20 days it was having problems so I called LG and they said keep trying it for another couple of weeks. When I called after 32 days they said it was out of warranty for 30 days!

After writing a strong letter they said they would fix the unit. It was sent to their Alabama repair facility. Three weeks later it came back again with no note, no explanation. I called the repair office and they said they had not seen it, even though I had confirmations from DHL it had been delivered and was now returned to me. Plugged it in, same problem, sticking DVD. They told me to send it back to them.

I sent it back a second time and it duly came back three weeks later with no note and no explanation. I called their repair facility again and they told me they didn't know who had worked on it and whether it was fixed or not. I plugged it in and same problem, DVD sticking.

I used the VHS part of the unit for several months until finally I got a brand new DVD for Christmas 2007 and thought that the unit must work. I tried it and same problem. I called LG and they said it was now out of warranty. That was after I had one hang up on me because i questioned why she would tell me to clean it when I had problems with it before. She told me to buy a cleaner but could not spell the name of it, only pronounce it. I spoke to a supervisor who said they would do nothing because it was now over one year old.

I wrote them a strong letter and said i would sue in small claims if they did nothing. I received a letter back today from someone who did not sign the letter but his name "Jeff" was at the bottom of the letter from the "customer Advocacy Group - Corporate Correspondent".

How unprofessional of these cowboys to know this unit was probably faulty from the beginning and then to state company policy when they did not want to deal with it. $300 down the drain. I am filing in small claims in Texas and will serve them in NJ. Then lets see them send a high priced attorney to Texas to deal with it. should they not show up then I will go to all lengths to collect my money, even putting a lien on their company to see what they will do. They have very poor customer service, they are not interested in the consumer and have inferior quality products.
