Liberty Financial Corporation Award Claim Final Notification - Ripoff New York City New York

On July 1st I received a letter from Liberty Financial Corporation stating that I had won $125,000. Enclosed in the letter was a check for $2750. I know that I had not signed up for any contest so this was my first tipoff. After I read the letter I found several grammatical errors. Any reputable company would not have spelling and/or grammatical errors in a letter. I also noticed that the letter was dated June 18, 2008 and at the bottom of the letter is said: "Please note that all prizes must be claimed not later than 3rd of June 2008." Those were the exact words. Please let other consumers know that this is not a legitimate company. I did not call and do not intend to call. With the amount of people these days who are in financial trouble I can imagine how vulnerable someone might be and potentially get very hurt financially.

My Ref# on the letter was: Ref# JPX /734569357; Batch # 55247. Also, they said my ticket # was: 743-2876-634 with a serial # of 5432-46 and the # was 5-10-32-24-28. It indicated that this was for the North America Prize Pool that was "held on 14th of April; 2008."

On the check the following institutions were listed: Payee: Lifeline, Inc. Byerly Terminal, Suite 302, 6100 W DIrksen PKWY, Peoria, IL 61607. The bank listed was JP Morgan Chase Bank, NA. Baton Rouge, LA 70826-0180. The check # for the $2750 was 5571 dated 6/18/2008 made out to me: Sally Nixon, 65 Center Street, Randolph, MA 02368-5443. Void after 60 days.

Once again, Please stop these people so they do not hurt someone.
