Liberty Wireless is the Worst COmpany to Deal with in the United States!!!! I signed up for a phone and service for my husband's birthday in August of 2002. Not long after getting the phone, I decided to to purchase one for myself. I had no problems until around November of 2003.

I was in the process of moving from Maryland to Florida and my family was still in Maryland. Because we were separated I used all of my minutes. My bank account was charged five times to recharge my minutes. I called Liberty Wireless because i didn't realize my phone was set to recharge my account that many times and deduct the money from my bank account.

I talked to a representative and explained the situation and he told me that it was not his fault I used all of my minutes. I wrote down his name and had planned to file a complaint with Liberty Wireless, but did not. Not long after that I increased my minutes to 500 minutes. In January I talked to a representative and decreased my minutes back to 300 (the original amount of minutes)since my family had now joined me in Florida.

Let's fast forward to present day...Recently, my battery has been charing and my signal is horrible. I called Liberty Wireless to dicuss possibly replacing my phone and my husband's phone. The representative told me that the least expensive phone would be 100.00 and that it was only a newer model of the one I already have. The customer representative was very rude and so I asked her when my contract was up. She said that my contract ends on January 18, 2005. I said thank you and hung up. Later I got to thinking "How could that be possible?" so I called back. I spoke to a representative named Gabe who was very nice and I explained to him that I wanted to cancel my phone service on both phones, he said okay and he transferred me over to another agent.

After explaining the situation to Dennis he said that because I had changed the amount of minutes on my account from 500 minutes to 300 minutes that my contract was extended. I told him that no one made me aware of that when I called to decreased the minutes back to the original amount. He said that it was no problem though he could still cancel my service on both phones because Liberty Wireless can't hold me to that and that he shouldn't be telling me that. He offered me two new phones for $99.00 each with one month of free service on both and an additional 100 minutes for the next month. I declined because their service and customer service is so poor and explained to him that I just wanted to cancel the service.

On August 13th, text messages came through saying that we needed to make a payment. I was confused by the message and called Liberty Wireless...an order to cancel service was never put in. Enna told me that Dennis made a note on the account that he offered me the phone package and that I would call back if I changed my mind. I explained to her that I wanted both phones cancelled and she told me that she would cancel the service on the one phone but she could not cancel service on my phone because my contract was not up until January 18, 2005. I explained to her what Dennis said and of course she could not confirmed what Dennis had said but that I would have to pay a $150.00 cancellation fee if I wanted my service cancelled. Of course Dennis could not be found and the recording for quality assurance didn't matter. She then tranferred me to Pinky. She basically repeated the same thing. I asked if she could listen to the conversation I had with Dennis on the recording and she said that it didn't really matter.

So here I am, frustrated that companies like this got me once again and that my feelings as a customer don't really matter. I wasn't happy with the service of this company but hate it even more that they treated me the way they did. I hate it that the money we work so hard for is taken by companies like this and we must stand by and take it. So when ever I get the chance to tell someone that Liberty Wireless is an awful company to deal with I will. Thank You
