Lincoln Financial Group Bureaucratic battle to avoid paying short term disability payments Omaha Nebraska

When a person takes leave from work due to a documented disability, the last thing they have the time or energy for is a bureaucratic battle with their insurance company.  That's exactly what Lincoln Financial Group has done to me.  I took leave from my job in Spring of 2015, filed for short-term disability benefits, and thus began the paperwork chase with Lincoln Financial Group.  Simply filing the claim is a long, paperwork intensive process.  Once everything was filed, the claims examiner kept coming back with "that's not sufficient" or "that's not good enough" replies, letters, and mailings.  After playing their paperwork chase game, I finally got everything in place, then they made only one small payment, saying that my disability only qualifies for a short term timeframe; that's in spite of a completed Doctor's form providing the dates of my disability and return to work timeframe!

So when I should have been working on my recovery, I was engaged in a paperwork battle with Lincoln Financial Group.  Now that I'm released from my doctor's care and back to work, I should be focusing on my career and the many tasks assigned to me.  Instead, though, I am now back in a paperwork battle with this company.

Based on my experience, this company does not exist to provide supplemental insurance coverage for its paying customers/members.  They do everything in their power to NOT PAY your claim.  Yes, as previous postings have stated, they eagerly accept your monthly insurance premiums, but when it comes time to pay out on a claim, they will bog you down with paperwork, cite federal rules/regulations, etc, to avoid providing supplemental income.
