LinkStar Corporation: promotes several brands online only:
(Vioderm, Trimday, Extreme Brite White, Purity Mineral Makeup, External Minerals, Knockout.) At present the company is a merchant in the Trialpay program. Trialpay allows consumers to receive software free, by purchasing products from approved merchants. Linkstar has trial versions of its products for around $6.95. Once the person signs up for the 14 day trial and clicks submit, as stated in the Terms of Service, Linkstar offers no refund, even if you cancel seconds later. Linkstar also signs the person up for various autoship memberships from $59.95 to $99.95 per month. The money is charged to the customers credit card. To cancel the autoship, the customer has to call the company, which uses different 800 number per product. Customer service is only from Mon-Fri 9am-5pm est.

The customer service reps are extremely unprofessional and the supervisers are not much better. Once this company has your credit card information, they have a tendency to charge away. Linkstar has a policy to not accept returns of its products. Yes, you read that right. If a customer pays for an item and decides to send it back unopened or refused to accept the item via the mail. Linkstar will keep the product and still charge the customers credit card.

Linkstar as of this writing has over 200 BBB (Business Bureau Complaints) A total of 112 BBB complaints were filed against the company in 2008 in Wexford, Pa.

What might surprise alot of people, company is owed by: Mace International. You know the company known for the Mace Pepper Spray.

We apologize for any inconvenience this customer experienced when trying to return the product. However, this is why we always recommend our customers get a tracking number when returning product. We process thousands of packages each day. While we strive for perfection, the tracking number does help us when a problem does arise.

Also, we will refund this customers money. She should contact her credit card company and ask them to apply the refund to the new credit card or issue her a check once the refund is processed. For security purposes we can only refund the card that was used to sign up. If she has any questions about the processing of her refund she may contact our customer service department at 1-888-244-1412.

Sincerely,
Michelle
Customer Service Agent

Extreme Brite White seems shady to me..

AUTHOR: The Ville - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 30, 2009

and I am two seconds from contacting my lawyer and have already canceled my debt card over them.

Ordered trial version of brite white, decided as the package arrived that I did not want to keep it. Emailed 3 times to get an RMA and address. Finally got it an immediatly mailed via priority us mail with delivery confirmation and tracking that it was delivered.

Three weeks go by and all is well, then suddenly a few days ago I was charged $79.95!
I called and had an somewhat polite argument with the service rep as she claimed the package was delivered but was return to sender! I followed the terms and conditions to a T. I read them thoroughly and was waaaay ahead of the return time. I did not write return to sender on the package. Argh!

After asking for a supervisor and then being told I will receive a refund I hung up.
Now I realize they cant refund me because I canceled my card because of them. So now I must call back again and fight for the $80. What a huge hassle!

Returns ARE accepted, Terms and Conditions clearly stated to customers

We are sorry to hear that this customer's experience was not satisfactory. However, we stand by our terms and conditions. The terms and conditions (that must be agreed to when the product is ordered) clearly state that once an order is submitted, it cannot be cancelled and the $1 trial and shipping and handling fees cannot be refunded. Our shipping process is automated and we are unable to stop the product from going out once it is ordered.

When this customer called in during our operating hours we tried to explain the terms and conditions to him. The customer signed up and for a 14 day trial on a two month supply of Trimday. As stated in the terms and conditions he had 14 days from his signup date to try the product. If he did not like the product, he simply needed to call us to cancel his membership and obtain the return instructions. He would have had 30 days to return the unused portion of the sample to us to avoid future charges. We are unable to accept packages marked return to sender because there is no guarantee they will make it back to our warehouse for processing in a timely manner.

In addition to the accepting the terms and conditions at the time of the order, we also ensure our customers are alerted to these via a confirmation email sent at the time of purchase and on the invoice that is sent with the package.

If this customer would like, he may contact us to obtain these return instructions again. We would be happy to provide them to him.
