I was offered a 4 year old female champion cocker spaniel for free on facebook from Lisa K. Bowers.  Lisa then told me I just had to pay for transportation which wouldn't be more than $200.  She also said she wanted her spayed before she left and that would cost about $200-$250 and if I wanted her that I needed to send a $50 deposit through Paypal and to send it friends and family so she wouldn't incur any charges, which I did.  I was in agreement with those prices.  After all, she's a breeder and should know the prices in her area.  

The next thing I knew she messaged me on Facebook and told me it was going to be $395 for spaying and a dental cleaning and asked if this was alright.  Well no that's twice the amount she quoted me.  Then I looked up the transportation prices and they were $386.72.  Again double what she quoted me.  She told me to trust her because she sends dogs all over the world.  My biggest mistake was to trust her.

She also told me I needed to buy a health certificate from her vet and it should cost about $40.  Wrong again.  They're anywhere from $40-$300 and I had to also pay for a rabies shot for her which she had never had.  

I finally had had enough.  I told Lisa that I just couldn't afford this and asked her to please refund my deposit.  She had already said that she had a lot of people that wanted her so she wasn't out anything.  She refused to refund my money....$50!  Now this isn't a lot of money but I am filing this report on principle.  She is a dishonest business woman and I hope nobody else falls for her lies.
