I ordered their ACAI product on line on 5/28/09. I received the product, already opened on 6/17/09. The lid was not sealed, and the inner opening seal was also open. I called 6/19/09 to receive information on how to return the product, was on hold for 13 minutes, and spoke with "Brittany". I was told I would have to pay the shipping charges both ways (returning the package, and receiving a new package), but that my trial would be extended to July 15.
After I hung up,, I realized that my supposed "free trial" was going to cost me upwards of $18 (shipping is $5.95), so I called back I told them to cancel both the LIVE LEAN and ACAI, and received confirmation cancellation numbers (ACAI 669-421; live lean 669-429). Lo and behold, their was a charge on my credit card for the online membership to LIVE LEAN in the amount of $24.95, charged on 6/18/09 - the day before I called to cancel.
I called the 888-272-6483 number, and was on hold ("someone will be with you shortly") for 30 minutes (my phone times all calls, and I kept checking while on hold). According to Meghan Representative # 4866, she could not refund my $24.95 because I had called after the 20 day trial period. I explained that I thought my trial would start upon receipt of product. I was told that both trials started with the order date. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and was told that no one could speak with me at this time, but that a supervisor would return my call within 24-48 hours. I asked for her last name, and she would not provide it. I asked for the name of a supervisor, and was told that she didn't know the name of anyone at corporate. I explained that I did not wish the name of anyone at corporate, but wanted the name of her boss. She could not give me anyone's name. I asked for an address, and was given P.O. box number 17855 Portland ME 04102.
This is a COMPLETE scam.
