While on my computer a pop up came across the screen and froze my computer.  I couldn't do anything.  It said it was from Microsoft and that I had numerous viruses on my computer and it would crash unless I called the number that came up on the pop-up.

I called and they said it would cost $200 to fix my computer.  Asked me for a check number and routing number.  I had a bad feeling about it but thought I can afford a new computer.

They said if I need help with my computer to call 1-855-222-7855.  Each time I called I got a recording stating that all of their account executives were busy and please hold.  Well, I did this four times and was kept on hold for at least 20 minutes with no one ever answering but that recording.

I would like to get a refund but since they had my check and routing number I can't do anything.  Please don't anyone else get caught up in this.  Nothing but a scam.  Only recourse is to file a police report which I will do.

After you file a report if you used a credit card call the bank and get a refund That is called FILING A CLAIM.

What you need to do is have a good antivirus program in your computer see if you can do a scan of your system TOTAL SCAN not just quick. It needs to clean out the malware.

For these pop ups you got you went to a scam page some place and the pop up is scare ware. There is nothing wrong with the computer. You just leave the page.   If you are a new computer user go to ASK LEO  and read how to do and teah yor self things. Leo also answers computer questions.
