Living Spaces "Leather" couch peals after just 3 years! Racho Cucamonga California

I bought a leather sofa from Living Spaces in 2012.  I come to find out that what was sold to me as leather is actually “bonded leather”.  They conveniently left that detail out at the time of purchase.

After three years it is pealing all over.  I called Living Spaces and they referred me to the warranty company.  I also purchased an extended warranty for 5 years.  Well this is not covered under the extended warranty.  The warranty company said that this is a manufacturing defect.  I have spoken to several people at Living Spaces.   No one wants to take responsibility for the horribly manufactured sofa.

I feel that I was mislead both with the product – not being real leather and the warranty.  Neither was explained at the time of purchase.   I also was not given a copy of the warranty just a receipt of purchase.  In fact, the sales person never even sent my information to the warranty company- I had to follow up to register all of the information myself when I was inquiring about the coverage.

Apparently, there has been an onslaught of these issues with their “bonded leather” products.  They are very aware of the product being faulty.  In fact here is a quote from the guest services manager’s supervisor “We sell you the best product for the price”.  Implying that because I received a good price I should have known that it wasn’t a good product.

I have never had this issue with any other furniture in the past.  I have exhausted my options.
