LKQ Corporation, LKQ Online shipped to me a defective product which obviously was not inspected before shipment.

It was a car CD-DVD player which still had a disk in it along with other broken internals. LKQ also shipped me a screen which did not fit my car as they had advertised.

To keep my $344.92, YPL as agent or employee of LKQ, failed to own up to their mistake and repeatedly refused to do the right thing. My offers to settle by a compromise were rejected by YPL. YPL claimed he will keep my money since by the time I received delivery of the items it was beyond their return policy.

YPL went on and wrote: I do not care if you tell the world about this. So I am telling the world:

Do not give LKQ and YPL a chance to take your money by relying on them to be honest and do the right thing!!!!

This is YPL from LKQONLINE. Yes he is correct, we kept his money. Why? Because one, he was out of warranty and 2, we offered him half his money back through BBB and he did not accept. 


This customer lives in Canada which we do not deliver. He had it delivered to his friend in NY which that friend then delivered it to him some half year later. Our warranty is only for 90 days as stated. He even asked me (which we have record of) "when does the warranty start". i told him as soon as it shows the item arrived. Just like any other product you buy from anyone else. He knew this from the get go.  


Months went by after the warranty has ended and he emails us saying its defective. I told him it is out of warranty..even if it was one month later I would've refunded in full, but we are talking a few months later. We see that he files complaint with BBB. We have a great BBB rating and told him through BBB that we can offer 50% refund back even though he's out of warranty (more than anyone would do for him). He never accepted.  


He said he'll tell the world about our "bad pratice". I said yes, go ahead and tell about us. Tell the world about how we stick to our policy. When we say an item has 90 days we mean it and when we say we take care of our customers we mean that too. Our ebay rating is 99.5% satisfied customer.

LKQ is a huge multinational conglomerate of salvage operations based in Chicago, IL.  I worked for this company for just under 10 years.

Believe me, your situation is not new.  They are too big to give a d**n about one person.  Although they advertise as a new wave of auto salvage, they are just the corporate equivalent of the grumpy junkyard guy.  It's their way or nothing.  What other option do you have?  They're a four billion dollar corporation.  They don't care about your 350 bucks or your return business.

A district manager owned an advertising company that LKQ used.  This was the only advertising company LKQ was using...owned by one of it's very own employees.  Double dipping?

They strongarm people in to selling their yards.  They lowball offers and threaten to build a yard close and put them out of business.  Shady?
