Not sure

I am not really sure what you are expecting or if you are just hoping that it will just go away.

But if this is a valid summons it won't just go away and ignoring it could cause you additional issues.  Yes, there are many scams out there but having someone come to your door and dropping off paperwork brings a level of validity to it.

If you have doubts then get a consulation with an attorney.  Many will give you a free short consultation, if not it will probably cost you a couple hundred dollars.

If you don't want to go that route then contact the Clerk of the Court of the court the summons is from.  They can tell you if it is a valid summons and any information on the actual court date if one has been set.  They won't give you any "legal" advice but they can give you information on what actions you need to do,

Legal Yes...But

Yes, you appear to have been legally "served", but you may have bigger issues.

If you say you never heard of this account and never lived at the addresses listed it is very possible you are a victim of ID Theft.    So the key now is to NOT ignore it, as if you just ignore it you may end up with a default judgement against you.

So first follow the instructions on the summons.  You most likely need to provide a response.  In the response state you never heard of this account and have never lived at any of those addresses.   If there is a court date...SHOW UP in court and defend yourself.

Also check your credit report ASAP for any suspicous accounts, because if you have one....you probably have multiple accounts and this may be just the beginning.  Then file a police report for the ID Theft and put a freeze on your credit report.

I would also highly suggest to at least get a consultation with an attorney.  It may cost you a couple hundred dollars up front, but may save you thousands down the road.
