United States of America Scam, uploaded the yellow pages of mortgage company's mailing address, some out of business, some not even in the mortgage business Internet

*UPDATE Employee: BusinessListPro response on loan officer database complaint

Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

I am extremely disappointed.  I their services several years back and found it to have correct information for the most part.

What I was sent yesterday is a joke.  No web addresses, company listings that arent even in the mortgage industry, duplications, few email addresses, wrong people being listed, companies out of business.

It appears they goggled mortgage companies and got the yellow page listings of ALL mortgage companies and uploaded them; their mailing address, phone number and contact name.  No confirmation as to if they were in business and in some cases if they even were a mortgage company. Ive not been able to get a handful so far that even have a web presence.

They state there is no money back guarantee, and that should have been a red flag for me that they are not legitimate.  They make you acknowledge there is no money back.  I am 98% sure when I used this
service several years ago that was not anything I had to sign off on.

Shame on me for thinking this was the same group that owned the company years ago.

BusinessListPro response on loan officer database complaint

AUTHOR: JBurnett - ()

We apologize that our buyer was unhappy with their purchase.  Upon investigation, we determined that there was an issue with the list that was provided and promptly issued a refund.

We validate US Postal addresses only against the National Change Of Address database provided by the US Postal Service.  We only sell marketing contact information for which there is a valid US Postal address.

Unfortunately, a valid US Postal address does not mean that a particular business is still in operation.  We do not validate if a business is still in operation.  InfoUSA employs more than 100 people to do just that and they charge 5 to 10 times what BusinessListPro does.

Given the economic challenges of the past few years, there has been significant volatility in the reliability of marketing contact information.  The loan officer and auto dealer businesses are among the most severely impacted.

Upon further investigation following this complaint, we have determined that the loan officer database no longer meets our standards for quality and we have suspended sales of the list.  We are deeply sorry for any frustration experienced by our customers and wish them the best.

P.S.  The buyer mentions that we now require our customers to electronically acknowledge our Terms of Service and provide other validating and identifying information before we finalize the sale.  The buyer is correct in stating that this was not done a few years ago.  However, as many Internet companies can attest to, online businesses are increasingly the target of fraud rings.  In an attempt to curb the fraud we now require the electronic acknowledgement of an email which is only sent after we confirm the order by telephone with the credit card holder.  These processes were arrived at after consulting with our merchant account service provider.  While this process has not eliminated fraud, it has significantly reduced it.  We apologize if our confirmation process is inconvenient, however, we take the safety and security of our customers' information seriously.
