On Dec. 7, 2007 my wife and I signed a membership agreement with Lone Star Direct Savings and paid them $3,000 on the spot for services to connect us with companies which would sell us products of many types and makes, airline tickets and other services at factory and or exceptionally discounted prices. That day we also signed an agreement for annual withdrawals from our bank account for ongoing service fee of $145. Now we are concerned that they somehow will continue to cheat us by doing that. We were enticed by two free airline tickets to anywhere we wanted to go in USA. Those were a hoax because they were not free as we would have had to pay various charges to obtain them and without certainty that we would get them based upon reports found on the web of others who had had difficulties and heavy costs in obtaining them.

Also on the same day we were given other enticement of a free amount of store coupons which we never successfully obtained. When we tried to get the coupons, we were rund around, ignored and finally given a number to a website, for free, a certain amount of coupons. The code number never worked and it bacame impossible to contact or talk to Lone Star again.

Also, just prior to going overseas we tried to claim the "wonderful" service of cheap airline tickets and upon three attempts via email, finally got a voice, Heather Jack, who seemed very helpful although she gave excuses that all computers and web contact was down and the only thing she had was fax and telephone to operate by. She persuaded us to send her a fax of the airline information, to which she promply replied that she had received and was processing. However, we never received follow up response of any kind and Lone Star became impossible to contact by any means again. Finally we had to use tickets that we had found by another source.

Also in April we submitted two requests for some factory furniture prices through Lone Star's web site system and got no response at all, never hearing from a single factory nor any return response by Lone Star saying that it was received and that they wer working on it.

As recent as October 2008 we traveled to Texas in an attempt to contact Lone Star in person. Upon arriving at 656 E Washington St. , Stephenville, TX, we found that they had vacated the premises about three months prior, leaving no forwarding address. They also had a PO Box 81, Stephenville, TX 73501 address but since we were not able to check with the Post Office for a forwarding address we never found another address for them. We tried the local phone number of 254-965-7026 and found that the phone was no longer in service. Therefore we returned from Texas without satisfaction.

Upon arriving home we tried the 866-749-8121 number for Lone Star and got a voice recording. We left our call back number and actually received a call back from a man named Patrick. However we were not at home at the time and this man Patrick told me to call back to 866-749-8121. When we called back according to Mr. Patrick's instruction, we had opportunity only to leave another message and we reported our membership number and informed them of the reason we were calling and our concern about not hearing from them or reply to an email that we had written to them in which we also expressed our concern. When 866-749-8121 is called now days it consistantly leaves a message that we have reached the mail box of 249-592-5323 and that the mail box is full.

It appears that when Lone Star Direct Savings finds out that it is one of the parties that they have formerly cheated calling, they have a way of diverting the calls so that they do not need to be confronted and only they and God know at this time where they have based themselves to rip off others in the same scam. But we have a strong sense that they are in Denton, TX because Heather Jack had once hinted that they may be moving there operation there when we had talked to her about the airline tickets.

In the agreement signed to annually have withdrawals from our bank account it specifically says that it can only be cancelled by written communication. The problem is that there is no way of contacting them. At this point we are seeking a way to get out of this agreement.

This operation deceives people by sending out mailings primarily to elderly people offering them free air tickets just for hearing about their program. Once inside, in this case we wer invited to the Bestwestern Hotel at 1810 Army Post Road in Des Moines, IA, treeted nicely and lectured to by a fast talking Texan and quickly convinced that we would be making a good investment. Had we had any inclination what we were getting into we would have run but it all sounded so good, especially the part about very cheep airline tickets on major airlines. It was very appealing since we make a lot of trips overseas in missions work.
