They called claiming to be my phone company CenturyLink. The lady said she was a representative of CenturyLink, and told me that the long distance carrier that I use through them will no longer be available through them. She said that the deadline was this month to switch to their new carrier, and if I didn’t switch my bill would double. She said it was just a formality but that she had to get permission before oking the switch. Then she transferred my call to another company this company was called Long Distance Consolidated Billing. She also said just to say yes to all of the representatives questions and to not answer ANY other way otherwise it would "take longer" and that if any changes need to be made to make sure to call her not the company she was connecting me to.

Well I called CenturyLink as soon as i hung up with the "other company" who would only take yes or no for answers. Turned out that the pitch that the first lady was giving me was all made up. They were not dropping anyone and the lady that initially called was not from century link. So I *69 the company that would only take yes or no for an answer and got the 1-800-345-5148 number. I called and cancelled same day. Turns out they use shady ways to get you to switch and then completely over charge you. Never change carries if someone calls you. If you are unsure if it’s your phone company just hang up and call your carrier directly and ask if it was really them who called.
